Pops drives a 2009 Nismo 370Z:

Before that, he had a 2008 350Z, a 2005 350Z (RIP, got crashed on a spirited drive ), a 1990 300ZX (he bought my first 300Z from me because he didn't want to see me sell it to someone else ), and a 1987 300ZX (built NA... thing made as much power as a stock Z31 Turbo. Was pretty rad).

His daily is a painfully boring 06 Civic EX Coupe.

Sounds like he likes Z cars.

He doesn't have it anymore but I have a lot of fond memories of being driven around in an '84 'rocco as a kid. Looked just like this:

Yeah, the whole family does. I've owned a '90 300ZX, '93 300ZXTT, '03 350Z, and '94 300ZXTT. My brother currently owns a '92 300ZX Slicktop and a '94 300ZXTT, and has owned a '90 300ZX as well. As mentioned before, my dad had an '87 300ZX, '05 350Z, '08 350Z, and the '09 370Z... so between the three of us, we've owned 11 Z's.

While I've essentially moved on from the Z's, I have numerous moments where I want another one solely because it's been a 'family thing' for so long. My sights are set on an FR-S, but don't think I haven't been tempted by a slightly used (read: quite a bit less expensive than a new FR-S) 350Z.

Im just being cautious about it because 1. I'm paying for it and 2. My friends who graduated(debt free cause their parents helped them) cant find jobs, and the ones that did are doing something crappy and unrelated to their education.

I don't even know what I want to do, and don't feel like diving into debt.
Rather save/get aid when I'm 24
Everyone chooses to live their life differently, this is what I wanna do.
Also my spelling and grammar sucks in general-its going to be even shittier on a car forum lol
I am not trying to be a ****, but your friends probably got worthless degrees if they can't find jobs. The tech industry is importing workers like crazy and there is a huge shortage of engineers. There are plenty of unskilled workers with liberal arts degrees. That whole dream of you get to do what you love is a lie. Get a useful degree in something you won't hate, and then you can spend your free time in your fancy new car and not chilling with the occupy wallstreet crowd.

He drives an '89 Buick Regal Coupe and it's in crap condition since he couldn't care less about cars. Meaning he doesn't care at all. >.>

Here's an example of one in good condition.

The '88+ is the FWD based W body, no sporting intentions at all.
