The only exterior changes from the 08/09 were the black headlights and LED tails.

I wonder if the tail lamp housing can indeed be cracked open.

This guy did it on his tC.

Oh, I meant a red tint in the same patten. $800 for tail lights?

Only tail lights I'm buying are Altezza lights!

I'll be doing the cutouts on my vinyl wrapped lights sometime this week, just like I did in that chop.

ive painted taillights the same color as my car before. you need to leave a certain amount of original lens showing bc paint wont let too much light through even with super bright LED bulbs(ive tried lol). you can get pretty creative with doin it ive seen ppl go as far as to incorporate designs to have lens still showing.

Don't know if this was your problem or not, but unlike standard bulbs, LEDs produce a more "pure" color. So, for example, if you put say a white LED behind a red tinted lens, you will get very little light out of it. The lens only allows red spectrum pass through it. If you use a standard "old school" bulb you'll get more light through because it produces the entire spectrum of light.

Therefore, you have to use a color LED that is close to the color of your tint to get a decent level of brightness.

Do you have any nighttime pictures to show how much light gets through when you hit the brakes?
