He also said that if Scion follows the same pattern as the iQ release then the Canadian price for the car will be announced a month and a half in advance.

As for the HVAC being an option or not he said to not get my hopes to high, because Scion uses the monospec sales model having the automatic HVAC as an option will stray from that cause most of the options they offer is dealership installed.

Nice, did you ask how many guys we got now? I hope its not just you and me haha

Looks like BRZ HVAC swap is in my future

I'm not sure about how many people pre-ordered cause he can only look at his own list, but he gave me the same number and said I was 5th so kinda suspicious about that. Maybe some people dropped out.

As for the group buy thing I think we are the the first 2, hopefully we can get more people to join in as we reach the release date. He also said something about merging us with his own group buy or something, but that's something that isn't set and stone yet.

LOL new si's look like shit.

If it's border line 27-28k there's a lot of options out there, it really comes down to own preference.

And RWD>=FWD

21500 is to close to tC, it has to be more expensive, otherwise no one would pick up the tC?

25K OTD full Loaded TC - Toronto, my buddy picked one up in 2011.

Have you seen the new GC? It's ugly as hell. And it's heavy too.

And Mustangs are heavy too; though they'll rape in a straight line

tC is for average commuters that like/don't mind FWD and want more features and size for their dollar.

FR-S is a brand halo sports car for drivers that love to drive and are willing to give up some practicality to do it.

But in Canada what we're worried about is how we get absolutely jacked on the prices of halo cars. Compare Sentra prices in US vs Canada, then 370Zs. Also basic Imprezas then WRX/STIs. Brutal.

27K to 34K for Canadian? Wow, if Toyota/Scion price the FR-S at this price, it will hit hard with people who cross-shop this with Hyundai GC. Yes, GC is heavy and big; however, for many people who will not track this car but looking for a RWD with 4 seater (or 2+2), along with the power boost in 2013 model, Hyundai GC looks promising in its own rights.

It is probably better to wait for Toyota Canada to put the pricing before making any decision. Forget about Subaru since they will gauge us big time with BR-Z.

^ At least for the Subaru version. Take the US price, then add ~$8k for the same car with one more $500 option. Stupid Subaru Canada...

Why is Subaru Canada "stupid"?

If they charge 8k more and they keep selling them, not to mention record sales in Canada this year, I would say they are extremely "smart".

Hopefully everyone will just buy the Scion version and force Subaru to drop their price. It is the same car, so why pay more?

lol look at you guys comparing the prices to weight and the Genesis. you think anyone in the street is going to care about "weight" and the fact that this car is basically really stripped down? please, all they'll see is a car with more horsepower, more standard features, and just, more.

Seriously stop pulling the "weight" card for the average buyer. It just doesn't work.

IMHO many people chose Subaru for their great AWD cars for the Winter time; however, many are feeling the pain of being ripped off with price gauge. That would explain why during the strong Canadian Dollar season many people (my colleague included) cross-border to buy Subaru cars in US and save a bundle.

I do not know if other people have gone cross-border shopping with other brands of cars, but I have seen many US-sold Subaru here in Canada.
