Good to know, I do wonder how a proper 4-2-1 setup will perform. I'd like to see 15whp solid gains, but perhaps that is asking too much?

Replacing the second cat with a high flow number seems to be the main gain. A well designed 4-2-1 header with no primary cat and a simple 2.5" free flowing system with that HF cat should be good for 15whp I would have thought?

I dunno a 7.5% bump in HP on a NA engine is quite a bit for just exhaust. Especially on such a small displacement motor.

How would the displacement have any bearing on the % gain? |

Plus the factory setup on the FRS is not that small, restrictive or poorly designed. |

I agree with what you say. The system on the 86 is very good for OEM and if they hadn't restricted it with that second cat and fitted that crappy mangled over pipe, we wouldn't have had much excuse to change it. Maybe they did it on purpose so we could change it and get some volume? |
