Not many people can afford a 30 000$ car at this age, congrats on the OP. From a 19 years old perspective, IT IS an expensive car.

Stop arguing and playing with words, we all know you're the champ (s)...

New/Used, pretty sure the average is way below that of an 86...

Some people just should get a life, or go out a little...
We are not talking about used cars. So what so somebody can buy a $750 1999 neon. Very clear info was provided showing it is below the average for a new car.

Also not saying the car isn't beyond the reach of many people. It is. I get that but it does not make it expensive.

If people disagree and state their case they are "know it alls"?

No we were (or at least I was) talking about the price of a new 86 compared to other new cars. If we want to broaden the application to everything that costs under $30K but get's you from point A to point B then why not just buy a $50 used bicycle.
Each person's definition of "expensive" because they can't afford it is not what I have been saying. There was a day when a McDonalds hamburger was "expensive" by what I could pay but that does not mean it was an expensive burger.

This all started because I commentated on the guys shitting on him because he was too young to afford such a high end luxury vehicle and they had to wait until the ripe old age of 24 before they could buy a used one.

Then don't say it.

What's the point of internet forums if I can't inflate my ego and prove someone else wrong?

Starting out of the gate with saying you bought a new $30k car at only 19 doesn't seem like such a great idea now after all this, does it?

To OP congrats on the car! Good job in earning your wages and paying for the car loan on your own. Have fun and be safe driving it!
Aye, nothing wrong with it. I almost did that myself when I was 16, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle and just kept playing video games xD

I wasn't shitting on him, I was just pointing out that lots of young dudes lie about this sort of thing, and hoped he wasn't. Lots of other guys were shitting on him though, like full on diarrhea.

It is an expensive car though.

@yanfoo It's not about being a know-it-all. It's about understanding the world doesn't have the same perception of what's expensive. There are plenty of other cars I'd like to get into, but can't because they're too expensive for me. Doesn't mean that @Tcoat or @humfrz would agree with me that those cars are expensive, since I know @Tcoat is looking at Jaguar F-Types. Hell, even for me, when I bought this car, it was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but since then, I've received one raise that was 15% of my yearly salary in 2015, then a raise that was 12% this past year. My perception has changed drastically since buying my FRS in December 2014.
I think this sums up the fundamental disagreement here. There is a mile of difference between "expensive" and "affordable to an individual".

What assumption? I said "if" not "you do". I will assume that your reading comprehension skills are somewhat low, given you seem to be proving that assumption correct.

Yet you claim it to be fact that the 86 is cheap based on some average

You are still associating price with personal affordability. How is it even remotely confusing that the AVERAGE price of a NEW car is $35K and these cars come in well under that?
And I have never once said it was "cheap" just that it is not expensive.
