Well I guess in the end we'll see something different (if any MK make it to production):

Its tricky- agree with others that the Mk1 is the cleanest and purest design; but also its not 'finished' the car was never going to look like that. Mk2 is horrible, sorry but it is- its fussy, the roof line is from an SUV and it looses all the subtle aggression of the first concept.
I really like the Mk3, its winning me over! It reminds me of the Mk1 but at the same time its modern and exciting and really dynamic looking. We dont have Scion in the UK but I understand they're a toyota sub-brand a bit like Lexus. If this car is to be global will the UK and other countries get the Scion brand or will we get a toyota branded car? What I dont understand though is the timing of the Mk3 concept- the Mk2 was only shown recently but the styling of the Scion car seems to be a complete departure from it- will 2 cars be released? One branded toyota and one Scion? |

Also the Mk3 reminds me of the Ferrari 458- but bizzarly I dont actually like the 458 design, to me it looks rather unbalanced.. where as the FR-S looks great!!

For me the biggest design factor between the 3 is the roofline/windscreen.
The MK2 just looks awful in comparison to MK1 and MK3. I understand why they did it, but I think this is one time id take form over function! Toyota PLEASE revert the roofline if your running with the MK2 in europe! |

i like the mk 3 apart from:
stupid brakes scion written on the back (though im from uk, we wont get that )the little lip thing on the front fender, before the bonnet massive rear diffuser, needs toning down a little it's hard to picture what a euro version will look like - we have a different shape number/liscence plate to the us & japan the rear of the uk 350z and IV supra are good examples of how the bumpers need to change .... also, if you US guys want toyota badges from the uk car im sure a few members will be happy to send UK/Euro versions over to you lol.

I see that a lot of you guys think a sports car should just be simple and clean. I disagree. This isnt a town car sports car. I love design details and sporting aggression in a sports car. Mk1 is good looking but too tame like a miata. Mk2 was weird looking and the proportions was stubby looking. Mk3 is a baby exotic and I am in love with the idea of a car that looks like 150k for 25k. Exotic>Simple anyday.

looking back at the mk2 now it looks really ugly. The 1 still looks clean, and the 3 has the best lines. If they clean up the rear diffuser, give it some clean rims/real brakes, a real mirror, and a nice interior and I will totally buy it.
The scion thing still has me a little iffy, I will definally be waiting to see what Subaru puts on the table. Also the next gen z, but if it is a preformance hybrid like rumors are saying (I speciulate it will also.) I'm out. No way I'm gonna drive a pig heavy hybrid even if it has 400lbs/tq. |

Ya know guys, just cuz it's a Scion doesnt mean the UK version or something will be different, slap a Toyota badge on this concept and this is what you're gunna be getting.

The best sports cars in the price range are simple.
Though, I am hoping there's an 18" or 19" wheel diameter with a rear diffuser and wing as a "Sport Package" option. |

MkIII > MKI > MKII
You guys forget the MKI was not really road ready...meaning it didn't have the crash bars and all the safety requirements taken into consideration so even though it looks really good, it was never going to make it into production as is. They had to tweak the design to make it roadworthy. That leaves MKII and MKIII and between those two, it's no contest...MKIII wins hands down. Just too bad they couldn't keep the MKI's tail lights. That's the only thing I really miss from the first concept. MKIII is labelled a concept but for all intensive purposes, I think it's pretty close to the production model except for the rear splitter, wheels, brakes and side mirrors. |
