???
2000GT is a very cab-rearward 2-seater, with seats right in front of the rear wheels and base of windshield WAY aft of the front wheels. 49F/51R weight distribution.
Twins are a mid-cab 2+2 coupe, with driver and front passenger situated in the middle of the wheelbase well forward of the rear wheels, and windshield base not far aft of the front wheels. 54F/46R weight distribution.
Very different sillhouettes!

Twins aren't the second coming of the 2000GT or of the AE86. They are the 2nd coming of the S13 240SX. Which is great! But they should make a cab-rearward 2-seat modern 2000GT on the platform. Same wheelbase as twins, but with the engine/firewall/windshield/driver shoved a good 20" or so aft...

I like where this has gone, and there are valid points on both sides.

Correct.

It is no longer a Twin at that point and should not be claimed to represent them.
Back in the 70s I had a built engine in an old 64 Econoline van that would stomp on most Mustangs or Camaros of the time. Would it be even slightly accurate for me to say that 64 Econoline vans were faster than muscle cars?
Agreed with your logic.

Sometimes I have to preface the discussion of my forester with 'it's not really much of a forester anymore...'

Built motor, ported heads, STi turbo, IC, trans, all emissions systems deleted, 4/2 pots, every suspension component replaced with either STi or aftermarket.

It's pretty much a built STi in a Forester shell at this point.

Still the same car, just better in most regards.

LS swaps wind up being about the same overall weight and alot of the swaps done professionally have somehow improved F/R balance over the flat four.

I think a good V8 swap still retains most of the "spirit" of the car over a built FA20 and forced induction anyways..... to an extent.

But without an 86mm bore and stroke, you can't call it an 86.
Put a V8 with an 86mm bore and stroke and call it an 86.

Lol how about an FA20 with the Cusco 2.1L internals? Makes the stroke increase to like 92mm or something like that

Again a REPAIR to the original state. Now if they took all the body panels off and replaced from a different vehicle what would you have.

I guess that would make it an 86/92. Or a 92/86.
