Here's hoping the AC controls (at least the knobs) make it to the base FR-S!

Don't hold your breath. They're designed solely for the automatic climate control, which won't trickle down to the regular model.

What do you think of the picture of the knobs from the 2014 tC that I posted in post #666? Those should probably go on the FR-S, right? They're not the automatic dual climate control ones.

It looks better, but again I wouldn't expect any changes at this point. It's not in Toyota/subarus financial interest to suddenly change a design so soon for a low volume car.

And yes while the HU is changed, keep on mind that its a change that's applying to ALL of scions models, so it's being adapted at a High volume. All other features were already available in the 86/BRZ so they're just diving into the parts bin of what already existed

While I like the larger volume nob on the current model, the interface on the new HU is alot nicer. May have to see about getting one of these next year, as it should be just a simple plug-and-play, right?

Edit: In addition, wouldn't it be more of an "FU" to the owners who sprung for the Bespoke unit?

I looked, but can't find a matching code for any Toyota/Lexus/Scion through 2013MY (I was hoping it was the 2000GT Thunder Silver) so maybe it's a new shade for the Series 10 and 2014MY vehicles.

I am one of those owners with the Bespoke. I will petition the shit out of the dealership to let me get the updated headunit. And supposedly there is a new Bespoke. If that dealer doesn't help me out, on to the next one. There has to be a reason they are no longer allowing FR-S orders to come with the Bespoke. They know it's shit and they're stopping people from getting them now. So I will use that to my advantage to get a deal on the new HU.

Damn I just ordered one with the current Bespoke. I hope it's not crap.
Don't care about Nav to much, just the interface with my iPhone 4, voice commands and radio.
Are they still updating it? Does it work ok besides the crappy attempt at Nav?

Those hex nut shaped knobs are strictly the auto HVAC ones. They're a little smaller than the 2 large knobs in the base interior. If anything the slightly updated tC knobs I could see find their way into the base interior. The current ones knobs look like they were lifted straight out of a Yaris (not the 2012 model)

Ive always wondered why the base HVAC didn't look like the auto HVAC without the electronic temp readouts and toggle switches.

I know. My friend owns a 2008 Yaris and he has the same knobs as the ones on the 2013 fr-s. You'd think they would upgrade in 5 years...
Generally Toyota is the slowest out of most manufacturers when it comes to updating their interior.
Most manufactures are using LCD's and high quality displays, even for something as little as the clocks. Toyota is still sticking with the orange/red alarm clock style in their interior.

You can amend your order through the dealer, if you are worried about it.

Not now, I pick it up today!
Can't wait, so excited.

If the unit's a POS I will hound them for the new one.
