Ok the pen worked. May I suggest a "calibration failed" dialog. Thanks for the help Rombinhood. Now to see if I can download/upload/write the 1.34

I had the same issue with calibration screens, "not initialized" errors, and locking up. After calling Vishnu, I uninstalled the open flash manager, and then connected to the tablet after going through the calibration process one more time. So far, it seems better tonight.

I saw that about a month ago with 1.03. Couldn't read nor white to the OFT. Only thing I could was resetting the OFT which meant I had to start from scratch. Fortunately I had yet to flash my car then.

After a recent firmware update (auto update through wifi), the OFT was no longer compatible with v1.03 of the OpenFlash Manager. Which is why v1.04 was released at the same time. Unfortunately many people only learned that out after running into the problem. Easy fix but perhaps we should create a mailing list that keeps customer updated with such news since not everyone visits this forum daily.

Can you prevent auto-updates? Mine will be connected to a desktop PC. I can't imagine why you would want to, but can you prevent it?

Looking at the ROM files. I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere, but I've been doing a lot of reading.
These are the files in the OFT FA20 ROMS v1_34.zip 6AT file: Stg 1 ZA1J900D.bin The improved tune for a basically stock car, correct? Stg 2 ZA1J900D.bin The improved tune for a car with upgraded intake and or exhaust, correct? But CAN be used with care while monitoring some values for a bit, correct? Stg 2 E85 ZA1J900D.bin The E85 tune. Is there a Stage 1 for a stock car, or do you use this one? Stock Mapping ZA1J900D.bin The "stock" OEM tune, correct? Sorry for the stupid questions. |

Stg2, for cat-less headers only. Stock intake. Stg2 E85, was tested on a car with cat less headers, but should be OK on a stock car based on folks that have tried it out on the forums. Stock intake. Stock, stock mapping. Your stock rom is stored on the OFT in bank 1 As for not auto-updating, I guess you could try not having your computer connected to the internet, but you really should be getting updates and checking www.procedetuning.com for updated software as well. Noob question, I compared stg 1 v1.34 to stock rom. I saw there was quite a bit of timing advance put into the base timing in the upper rpms (about the same amount when comparing stg1 to stg2) I'm trying to go for a super conservative tune to completely eliminate any knock even under the most stressful conditions (track in 110 deg weather).
So what I did was removed any added timing (go back to stock) from 3600-7400 rpms in the base timing and ign timing adv tables but kept all the values 3200 rpms and below in the base timing (because those won't see track conditions) and kept all the timing retard (compared to stock) in the ign timing adv table. Does that sound like something reasonable to do? Also when I looked at the VVT tables, I'm not seeing values in the x and y axis that make sense. I'm looking at the ZA1J900D roms. Are they supposed to be rpms for y axis and load for x axis? |
