so i hit up micro center, a computer store, it was the most packed i've ever seen it besides at christmas. then i swung by the only other computer store left, fry's, and was met with this:
https://www.geekwire.com/2019/can-fr...spark-concern/ ![]() 0 motherboards, 0 monitors, had 2 wifi routers on the shelf. no wonder everyone was at micro center...

I dislike frys. They never have what you need. They were always out of M/F DB9’s and hoods. How?!?
I could never own a valuable car. The temptation to drive it would overcome. My spare motor was assembled by a Toyota tech. So go figure the timing cover leaks before it has ever been run.

I've given up on in-store for PC stuff for this reason. Newegg or Amazon. Interesting enough I was just watching a video on Upgarage's store in japan wishing we had something similar state side. Pretty crazy seeing all those used aftermarket parts out on shelves like a walmart... [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIw9bITZ3Xo[/ame]

i go to stores like that, not so much to buy something specific, but more to look at what's even available. i spent 3 hours at micro center today... i've spent more than 2 hours at times in home improvement stores just looking.

This is the fine line that I walk every time I start thinking of buying something. I would want a driver not a garage queen so you have to play the value balancing act. Too little and it is probably going to need shit loads of work all the time. Too much and I would not want to drive it and destroy the value.

That is what I would think on a conscious level but it would still nag at me to drive a car that should be preserved.
