Hell, you live in a country where people win law suits because coffee is hot and nobody warned them not to spill it.
Just pointing out that you are risk.
That whole McD's case is full of misconceptions. She didn't actually even want to sue.

I read up on that case and it was actually found that McDonalds did a study that showed people cared more that coffee was hot than any good so they were brewing it to like 3 times the national standard for coffee temperatures. She was severely burned where a normal cup might scold at worst.

But I take your point.

No, that's what lucky is. Unless of course you were both inebriated.

The technicalities of the case were not my reference. The very fact that she did sue and won is. I can pull up as many frivolous suits that were won as you would like.

Oh I have no doubt you could. If I could only share some of the stuff we have been sued for

I wish a could even comment on them, couple of them are hilarious, but we still had to pay.

Yep. Most customers in the morning were trades guys, and they Want their coffee to still be hot when they get to the job.

Still, tcoats point is valid. I blame it on liberal judges who don't judge. That McD's case should have never hapoened. A judge years ago would have said that any reasonable person knows coffee is hot, and any reasonable person knows that you are likely to spill it on yourself in a moving car.

It is more of the lack of personal responsibility thing that has been going on in The US for years. Shameful.

Car was stopped.

At the same time it is your due diligence as a company to know that a potential spill is likely to happen so you don't serve coffee at 190F. We weigh these factors all the time.

You would make a perfect California judge. That is below boiling. Perfect temp.

Shameful.

I am not talking about protecting the customer so much as limiting your liability as a company. There are tons of improvements I would like to do at work but we can't because there is no safe work around and it opens us up to liability on this level.

Of course, you could run into the same problem with ICE, but at least it's easier/cheaper to keep extra fuel around.
200 miles driven like normally. At 65, probably 240. Some have gone higher.

I don't like keeping gas around. Fire hazard. It goes bad. Really only need them for lawn mowers and such as well as e85 at the track.

Last night, talked to a guy with a Tesla P85, lotus Elise, and Ferrari f430. Dude knows what he likes.
