The noise is the clutch, basically what's happening is you have a sprung friction disk rotating between two plates (one on the flywheel, one on the pressure plate). When there is no load...like coasting to a stop in neutral, the transmission even in neutral produces some resistance to rotation. So basically the springs in the clutch are compensating for any of that drag from the transmission. When this happens the springs in the friction disk will give a little and then press the disk back to it's normal position. This back and forth motion of the disk causes light chatter.

My clutch does this all the time, but I'm running a stage 4 race clutch. I'd ask to have my transmisson fluid changed to a better fluid like Motul 300 Gear. If that doesn't cure it then it may be the clutch itself.

Also I recommend not coasting in neutral, it's not what it was designed for. Occasionally doing it isn't bad, but when you have all those gears in the transmission spinning free you run the risk of causing gear lash and possibly breaking teeth if something sticks for just a second. The clutch was designed to be used when coasting...if you want to throw it in neutral before you come to a stop keep the clutch pressed in til you are actually stopped.

Lol well yes, definitely don't do this on a normal basis, the only reason I did it was troubleshooting. I just need to see if this is something irregular or not, than I can mark this off the list. And its not when I'm in neutral its just when the clutch is pushed in aka no load on the motor.

Okay so I drove around and it only happens when the ac is on! This also explains why I noticed this today. I usually drive around with ac off.

A lot of the guys are dynoing and either parking the cars or taking them to Firebird and parking them for the night. They don't want anything to happen to them till the shootout is over.

I believe it has to do with my overall issue of the weird idle problem I am having. It just feels like a vacuum issue or something. It's all based on how high the rpms are when the clutch goes in. And I know its not the intake cause its stock now.

If anyone can try this and let me know what they experience that would be great. (Rev up to above say 6000 rpms and then throw in the clutch and hold it and see if your rpms drop down where they are supposed to or if it drops then shoots up again and then drops again.)

I did as you said and I didn't notice anything. mine stays around 600-700 rpm when in idle. running bone stuck

thanks for your explanation. however I only notice this when the ac is on. that is why i noticed it today only. is there a link between the ac and clutch? Do you still hear this when ac is off?
