I have a small fish pond at home. It has been so hot the last few weeks the water is currently about 92 degrees. The fish are not happy but boy the algae is loving it.

Our pond is fed by a mountain stream. My body's temp gauge says it's just above freezing! lol

I put fish in our pond about 10 years ago. (My buddy moved and gave me eight 6" to 10" fish. They lasted almost 5 years. I was Very surprised!!!

Ya mountain run off isn't a problem here.
I had 6 fish that lived in the pond for about 7 years but then they all just died for no apparent reason two years ago. Have had the 3 current ones since. A couple of weeks ago I discovered I had a thousand or so fish in the pond one morning. There were 5 survivors (beyond the first 3) and they are now getting big so unless I have a mass die off again I now have a self sustaining population.

I went back to California to get cars last week. It was a bit strange. It was the first time I have ever stayed with my mom. I moved out at about 20 years old and have always lived within a few miles of my parents.

New home, New surprises. I knew the hvac was old, but working. Well, not really. it is 31 years old and very tired. Looking at 14k for new system, ugh. Always something.

How deep is this pond? Does it freeze?

It is only 2 feet deep. I leave a pump running in the winter so that even though the surface will freeze over the moving water means the bottom does not.

Seems a bit much for a new system, unless they are replacing all the ducting too.

Yep. You will get surprises for the first year or so but then you will know exactly what will need doing. HVAC would have been one of the very first things I would have checked before buying but I am not from California!
The FRS all fixed up? Did you ship my Porsche to me yet? What is it like having the only Lotus in the State?

The FRS is done, but not right. I have a lot of wind noise with the repaired door. I have a paint bubble in the front emblem, and worst of all, they put a Scion emblem on the front.

I'm sure you are right about the lotus. I haven't driven it here yet. Was going to go to DMV and get plates today.

I knew the hvac was old, but functional. I figured I had a year or two before replacing, but it needs it now. I'm probably wasting a couple hundred a month with this old system. The a/c unit just runs 24/7.

It is state of the art, variable speed, 96% system, and the house is almost 3300 sq/ft with vaulted ceilings. I got 3 quotes and all about the same. Also includes a new 50gal water heater. Includes new ABS flue. Should be real nice and last my lifetime.
