I have read in these STX builds that when you install coilovers like the KW3 Variants, you need to add front sway bar adjustable end links. Does that apply to the back also? It looks like maybe an inch or less of ride height drop is the preferred setup, so that is where I will start.

Front adjustable endlinks are not required. I didn't run them until I swapped to a different swaybar.

3/4-1" is where I started.

Thanks, I forgot to mention I already have the Strano front bar if that makes a difference.

It's not like the car gains a ton of speed on the straight sections and it's not like the car needs to be woahed down to get it to turn. If you have too much brake pad/brake bite, you could be doing yourself a disservice by inadvertantly over-braking and possibly having too much bite making it harder to modulate.

In the STi I had the HP+ and loved how strong they would brake, but I was often overbraking for corners and was losing too much speed when just needing a slight brush of the brakes. This was some great feedback I received from Sam Strano, and we swapped them for some Ferrodo 2500's. The same amount of ultimate braking without the massive bite, which made it easier to play with under trail braking and needing to scrub just a touch of speed without doing too much.

I guess the whole point here is to think about what you need to make the car better/faster and not just throw on parts because you can. Not that pads are expensive, but the money could be used for parts that will do more for you than pads.
In san diego here third gear is not that rare and there is a bit of downhill so stopping means a bit to me. however with the stock pads i had a tendency to unstersteer which was corrected with upgraded pads. that may have been due to the driver needing experience. also on those rivals for sale i have zII's and love the consistency. drove on rivals didnt like the feel. too bad good deal for them

I would beg to differ that you NEED a front sway bar. I think people that are encountering issues with handling after installing KW V3's need to spend a little more time setting up the dampers than throwing more parts at their cars. "Full stiff" is not the approach...

He's talking about the endlinks for the swaybar. I don't think they're needed (according to Sam), but I'll probably get some for mine anyways. I think I've read that some have had some slight rubbing.

I thought I had read in some setups that adjustable end links were needed to attach the sway bar after lowering the car, and possibly to prevent rubbing. I suspect that lowering the car might lengthen the end link connecting points and thus you would need a longer end link to compensate and get the right stiffness on the swaybar. I plan to adjust the dampers etc, but if I can't attach the swaybar I am held up in my prep.

I have the Strano front bar now and like it with my stock suspension, so my plan is to move to coilovers, lower the ride height slightly with swaybar connected under proper tension, and start adjusting from there.

Thanks.

When the car is lowered with adjustable endliks the sway bar rubs on the lower control arm. So shorter endlinks up front really helped me. I only had this problem with upgraded sway bars.

Me too, I want to do it to make the car look cooler. It really doesn't help the car at autoX

I completely agree with that, the problem is writing the rule in such a way to allow such things while not providing any aero benefits. Remember, that's the way things were, and then people started to take advantage. I would love to have that front lip/sideskirt setup (very subtle, nice little addition), but it is what it is.
