Yep. The difference was that the stuff was already on the car. They would not do the exhaust or springs for free but I paid only about 30% of the listed price for them and no installation fee. Not so sure you would get such a deal on the 16s since they are new though.

No it was in downtown Nashville, Beaman Toyota. I had issues with Darrel Wal trip in Franklin they were being let's say a little too judgmental and douchebags

Long story short lol I wasn't dressed fancy like your typical person in Franklin and they paid me little to no attention but then this fancy dressed couple walks in everyone was all over them. So yeah their loss, although they were the only dealership at the time that had a black BRZ that I wanted. But I'll settle for WRB

Still sitting on either getting a RS 1.0 or going after a 2016 as of now. The 2016s are about to hit dealerships any time now, do you think it would be a good time to haggle dealerships for RS 1.0s that are still sitting on the lots? I'm thinking about going after one around August-September timeframe. I'm sure they'll reduce it under $30K by then. They have to right? To make room for the 2016s?

Just buy it from private party if you really wanna haggle. You can barely haggle for a Scion at a dealership..., unless you really are willing to put in time and miles in order to compare dealers. Like I said, I wen't to a LOT....literally a LOT, of dealerships. I got mine 3hrs away from where I live. Worth it. 8 months to find....for the price I wanted.

I'd get a new 2014/2015 next year, when they drop 2-3k...if they do. You can find them (well non special edition). There's a silver FR-S here in a dealer, 2013 with 2k miles. In my book, that's still brand new. X<5k=new imo. East Bay area had a few 1.0's a few weeks ago when I went to dealer for touch up paint. Just call up dealers in your area of SD.

All the RS 1.0s in SD are gone. Closest one is in some Scion dealership in Costa Mesa but they added a bunch of crap on it making the price $35K. I asked how much they would drop if they removed it and it was still around $33K.

Plan right now is to wait it out until August and buy from Longo Scion (if they still have their FRS 1.0s) and have it trucked down here since they told me before they can do it for no charge. If that falls through, go through Costa Mesa dealership and if that fails, I'll just get a new 2016 from the dealership down the street.

Sorry to ask, but what would you do if you were in my shoes? Wait out for a RS and see if they price drops over the summer or just wait for the 2016s to come out?

Personally... the special editions are beautiful!

Now, even when theyve caught my eye, would i buy one? Nope. If i could afford a brand new one and had good patience, I'd get a 2016. By then any little issues would be resolved. ...hopefully. stiffer suspension i hear? Upgrade?

Plus, i am not a fan of the interior controls. I like manual over digital. Also, SE banana car has no real mods you couldn't do to a stock frs. They didnt like boost hp by 25 or anything. Its really attractive though.

LSS I'd buy a 2016.

Buy a plane ticket and fly out to Columbus, GA. They have an auto RS1.0 marked down to $28K because its an old-aged unit.

I just looked at them via Autotrader and the car already has 132 miles on it. Were people using this as a test drive vehicle? Still interesting btw.

This is my first time buying a car out of state so I'm not sure how the taxing and licensing works.

It's been sitting on the lot for about 9 months, so 132 miles is reasonable considering it has certainly been on a few test drives.

Buying out of state isn't hard; just let them know what your tax rate is and they may can roll out into the deal and cut you a check to pay back home, or not include taxes at all and let you handle them yourself.

I did not really have to negotiate or haggle anything at Scion. The salesguy was really helpful to get me into the FR-S and immediately knocked off over $2K off the sticker and added $1000 more to my trade-in than I expected it to be worth in the Blue Book, getting my payments where I wanted them. He even bought me lunch while I waited around for the financing dept.
First time at any Toyota/Scion dealership and actually the best and most friendliest experiences I had buying a new car.

I heard a rumor, every dealership has one RS1, not sure where I heard that from, but it was false. Just found out, Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills, CA has 3x RS1 in stock. But I tried haggling the RS1 with $28k cash/cashier check, didn't work.

I am not sure how low a dealer can go on the price to make a profit for themselves and try to sell the car, but I would imagine in some cases, if they have a certain model of car which may have a higher demand or a special edition of a car where buyers are willing to pay full price, then they aren't going to immediately sell it to a buyer for a lower price just because they have cash in hand. The dealer is going to wait for that guy who has the money to pay full price. If the car wasn't selling at all, then they would probably negotiate, but if they expect to sell it quickly, then they aren't going to negotiate.

Thanks for the input, I'm still waiting on a few sub $30K RS 1.0s from dealerships out in the East Coast. It would probably be about the same if I bought one in-state since I would have to pay any transport fees and on top of that I would have to get the car inspected once I register it.
