Mind PM'ing me the price? Thanks

I found a coupon online, $10 off, I wish I was CAA perhaps double discount? Oh well, hopefully it all goes well, the owner was really nice on the phone, seems like a legit place, I'll keep you guys posted...

They are drilling holes though, he said it's the only way

^See if they can only drill ONE hole on the doors instead of two. I posted a pic in my previous posts.

Thanks I'll try to do that, I'm not a fan of the holes either but doesn't look too noticeable, I have an Asphalt so it shouldn't show as much with black plastic grommets

For tar-based I got a quote from 150-350 and takes longer, I guess I can live with the holes.

^ The one at KROWN is oil based. IMHO I would rather get the oil based than tar underneath my car. BTW, KROWN provides lifetime warranty as long as you do it every year.

Most rust proof company offered life-time warranty as long as you do yearly rust check with them. But some of them may charge a small fee for the yearly check.

My previous car got that too (not at Krown) and there's zero rust in & out after almost 5 years until I trade it in.

Thanks for the info share. Enjoy.

i don't mind the drilling, i just hate it when they make grease spots everywhere on the INSIDE of my car.

When i had my altima i took it to the Krown at Bullock in Markham. I've done it twice. Everytime after i get my car back i find the steering wheel and side of the seat all have grease spots. I wouldn't want that happen on my BRZ Alcantara seats cause i can imagine i'll be a bi*ch to clean it off.

Resurrecting an old thread!

Is there a big difference between Krown and rust check?
Is Krown more messy? It seems that Rust Check is a lighter oil and less messy?

Thanks!

Pretty much the same stuff all oil spray. It makes your car really messy. Later in the summer i'm going to get it sprayed with Corrosion Free at a reputable shop. I heard that's a gel spray so not as messy.

I had the corrosionfree done on other cars.

Once on the Celica (which I usually get krowned) at CT. Once on the Mazda at an independent shop.

It's a nice product. Its still gooey two years later on the Mazda. Krown dies up much faster than that. While it does drip much less, It does still wrap/leak around the edges of door panels like the krown does however.

Also, I think it's responsible for expanding the gasket on the leading edge of the hood of the mazda.

HOWEVER... neither 'shop' did a quality application. It's so far from a 'Krown' grade application its not even funny.

Both shops missed areas and had to be goaded into doing the missed areas and even then they did a crap Job. Both shops had a very limited selection of wands and clearly couldn't get into all the corners. The independent didn't even do the rockers and didn't have the proper drill bit to get through some these newer fancier steels -- imagine my horror as I watched them try to get their burned out drill bit to dig into (melt?) through the door sill.

So while it's a nice product, the problem is that it seems they'll sell the product to anyone and don't appear to audit the shops later.

I think what sets it Krown apart from Corrosion Free is that at a 'Krown' facility it's all they do.

Corrosion Free typically seems to be an add on service offered by shops, mechanics and some specialty shops (alarm/audio installers, tinters etc).

I can find quality Krown shops all over the city. Corrosion Free -- while I'm sure (hope?) there's a quality shop out there somewhere I don't have the time and energy to track them down (who knows how far away) and risk my car with another unknown.

/rant
