This is why you're an engineer and not a comedian.

all compatible vehicles of part number 30620aa111 are listed on that webpage so I assume you can buy a used slave cylinder from any of the cars listed

No worries - makes perfect sense. That being said, it's just a hunk of cast iron with a couple holes bored. IMHO, you'd be better off with a new fake one than an old factory one.

So @Ultramaroon you mentioned lowering the clutch pedal before doing this. So if I'm correct the possible problem is this raises the clutch pedal level, possibly raising it too high and damaging the pressure plate?
I have mine a few mm above the brake pedal level, how much does this adjustment raise the pedal? Should I drop it a couple mm below the brake pedal before doing this? Anyone else with the clutch pedal adjustment have any input on adjustment after doing this mod? I'm so close to pulling the trigger. |

I had already dropped my clutch pedal before the swap and, although the extra throw at the pressure plate is noticeable, assuming your clutch and brake pedal are even, it just brings the whole package together. There's enough disengagement at the bottom that, even though in principle, I disagree with using it as a gauge, it's safe to set the clutch pedal height to match the brake and then fine-tune from there. A few mm above? Meh, you're fine. Drop in the new cylinder and decide if you even feel like adjusting from there. |
