copied from another thread
"I read through the manual the other night and I remember reading something about the remote having a 'car finder' feature. You can tap the 'LOCK' button 3 times and it will sound the horn once (which is loud I might add) and continue to flash the lights so you can find it in a parking lot or whatnot." |

I love the DRL's! Its so awesome when the parking brake is down, the DRL pops on! Pull up the brake, the lights go off! *thumbsup*

Nice DIY. Drl is for today's idiot drivers. I think they do more harm than good. It's a distraction, people can see just fine w/o them. If you can't see, turn on lights, it's simple. I see people driving with only drl at night, thinking headlights are on.
This will be my first mod.

I mean no disrespect as I am a new member but I feel that they are important. Yes they are designed for idiots but they are not at all for you or any other driver. They are so that when someone doesn't turn on there lights they can still see in a dark area. There are tones of them in B.C.
True a lot of them are idiots but they still drive at night with no lights on. they don't feel they need them. Now imagine a kids walks out in the road because they couldn't see a car in a dark suburban street, and they get hit. That is the whole idea behind them. I do see your side as well my '89 MR2 doesn't have them and it is nice to choose if I have lights on but I am smart enough to know when to turn them on. I don't judge those who take them out as they are the people with enough sense to turn them on. But I just felt that the DRL needed some deffending on this thread.

Natural selection? But in all seriousness, this is a good write up. I've never liked them, and have disabled them on every car I've owned that came with DRL's.

Not to ask a stupid question, but if one were to add HIDs, would that affect just the low beam, or would the DRLs/high beam be changed (to white/blue) as well?
I'm sure there's a package for both, but I haven't found it clearly stated yet. |
