Having a Honda Prelude as a dream car at least is obtainable.

Dream cars I had off the top of my head...

Vector W8

Lamborghini countach 5000 s, once a little older a Diablo...

63 Corvette stingray coupe.

I told myself I was going to get a manual next, but then I test drove this one with the auto and really liked it. Plus it makes it easier when I decide to install the sequential transaxle to give the car a perfect 50/50 while reducing weight by 70 or more lbs...

Nice (: based off the HKS it's still practically doing the same as the auto. Its a shizz ton of money too, from what I've heard as for a daily it's clunky. With the inability to go straight to neutral, to each his own. With enough track time i'm sure you'll get your moneys worth of that 50/50 and 70 less lbs (:

Really though. I would never hate on Honda though, i'm sure they plan on changing up the game with a 10th gen civic SI and an upcoming s2000. Right now The accord V6 looks so classy, especially with an HFP lip! The Civic SI, well for $4000 less you get keyless entry, push to start, available 4 door sports sedan (actual room for humans, and huge trunk space), on top of that you also get a K24 174 Torque and 205 Whp. You really get your moneys worth lol.

My family is more of a Honda family. But when I looked at the design of today's Accord/city/etc, they just don't appeal to me. I much prefer the styling of Honda back in the 2000s. Not sure if they have changed the chief designer since then but I remember back in the days I used to think wow that new Honda accord/city/civic looked good.
Now they just look like any other fridge on wheels. I don't like the current civic at all. Looks stiff and bulky.

Honestly build wise, I don't plan on doing much. Have you ever seen a molested supra with a ton of aero and engine mods? Now keep that thought, have you ever seen an untouched Manual Twin Turbo Supra completely stock and unmolested? For me the beauty of a car really holds its value when it gets older when it's just simple and clean. I'm not saying our cars are Supra's but it is a car that really changed the game of production for car makers. Besides the point, here's my mod list:

First 36,000 or 3 years:
K&N Filter $50
MTEC Shift springs $35
Toyota Badges $55
Subtle CF front lip I don't know which yet $400+
I'll tryout Unichip $365
BlueBatMan tailight overlay $?

After 36,000 or 3 years:
FT86 Speedfactory header
RCE Yellow lowering springs
Crawford Billet Block (This is godly expensive for what it is and I hope it goes on sale)

Decided not to go exhuast, 2015 Exhaust tips are actually really nicely sized and dear god a full catback no matter how little the drone will annoy me as it did my prelude.

This car is a huge investment for my parents in me, they decided to get me a new car to get me places, not to go fast. As thankful as I am to my parents to have gotten me a sports car, I'm somebody who will hit Cruise Control at 65 mph to save gas, only every now and then slowing down to 60 just to drop it into 3rd or 4th and haul ass to 75 to get that rush.
Put all future modding aside and paying off the student loans yourself would be a way to thank them. You're old enough where you should be able to support yourself, but live with them as long as you can before they kick you out.

I've been investing in the stock market since 8th grade, I'm not saying I did well at that age actually I lost $500. I've had a job since sophomore year in high school saved that $2000 and invested in the stock market. PEIX to be exact, in at 4.33 and as of today at 19.18 per stock. Fafsa has covered all my tuition, my student loans are only for housing $3200 a year.
my priorities are looking for paid internships for extra money, as my past 2 internships were volunteered. Trust me when I graduate, those funds are going towards my college loans. My parents have sacrficed a lot for me and my brother and to be slacking off in college is the last thing I would want to do. I'm also thankful to be in the position I am.

Just commenting on what I quoted, this being just my opinion. That's a little closed minded to assume that anyone who bought the auto is a teenager buying the car for looks, from what im reading aren't you also a teenager? I don't know many uninformed teenagers who bought this car at all, not saying there isn't any. Majority of the people I see in these cars bought them as a project and are true gearheads looking for a good drivers car. I bought the auto, not because I cant drive a standard trans, but after test driving both, I preferred the paddles, theyre far better than the bad impression given to people 10 years ago on other cars where they weren't so good. Its fun when I want, and I can just leave it in auto with all assist on when im doing my daily commute in the city. If I were buying this purely as a weekend toy/track car, I would have wanted the stick.

Just trying to give you a little insight before you make assumptions like that. Theres quite a few people on this forum who bought the auto because they enjoyed the paddles.

I agree. I have owned/restored 423 vehicles (110 were motorcycles) over the years. This includes 46 Corvettes, lots of Porsches, lotus, and other exotics. I purchased an A/T and love it. It is my daily driver and I spend a lot of time in city traffic. It makes for a much easier drive. When I want to use the paddle shifters or auto stick it shifts more quickly than I could do with a manual. In the mountains it was especially great with the dynamic rev matching. I have put 18k on my FRS since January and love her. Also I love the 36hwy/32city mileage I am getting. I think Toyota knew what demographic they were shooting for and there are a lot of us out here with grandkids that are buying them because of their practicality, performance, and the back seats.
