Gratz!!

What color are you going to get ?

I just bought my FRS last weekend and honestly it was such a easy experience. I too was a little iffy about the whole pure price thing but I got my car for exactly what I wanted and the only thing they tried to sell me on was the extended warranty and lo jack... But that is easily taken off once you say so.

Post pics when you get your new baby !

Hahahah thanks - unfortunately, my parents are iffy about me driving a sports car, regardless of my flawless record and mutually-deemed responsible driving . So, they said wait until December, and they will see how my driving is, and the financial situation. Anyways, I was looking at Raven black, and I most certainly will not only post pics, but make a build thread :P

If you don't mind, why did you turn down lo jack? I didn't know that was an option, and was going to install it aftermarket anyways.

I think pure pricing works both ways. I bought my car when the twins were on very high demand and very short supply. Subaru dealerships were marking up the cars and had a longer wait list. I was perfectly happy with paying msrp for my car.

other have said this, but the pure price is a gimmick that basically says they want the paperwork to have the sales price at a certain point, but you can negotiate other things, like trades for example for quite a lot. I traded in my motorcycle for $300 less that what I paid for it in the first place 2 years prior.

Not to mention most prefer the FR-S front bumper over the BRZ so they're willing to pay for it.
This has literally nothing to do with the WRX. At all. A similarly equipped WRX will cost you over $30k. I built a WRX with similar equipment on their website for shits and giggles and it was $33k. I think the real issue is that Subaru dealerships are a lot less common in warmer areas. Subaru has trained its customers to think they need AWD. Trying to convince people in areas that get a lot of snow that they should get a low, RWD coupe over a WRX can't be very easy. The dealership I bought mine from told me the reason the car was so cheap was because they just couldn't sell BRZ's in February. I believe it.

Also, yes, the FRS front grill is pretty, but the BRZ comes with a lot more stuff than the base model FRS. So for the same money, no reason not to get the Subie. Oh, and it'll also hold it's value better because they're "rarer". Go figure.

Well just stick in there! Sooner then you know it December will be here!

I turned down the Lo Jack cause I wanted my payments to be as low as possible and if I ever wanted it to be installed its a simple trip to the dealership. So the option will always be there in the future.

And because it's a waste of money. It's not exactly the most inconspicuous car in the world...

Hi, first time poster here. Very interested in a new white manual FRS monogram 2014. I've been looking around and the longer I wait, the harder it seems to get a hold of. I recently talked to a dealer regarding one and he said he can get a hold of one (fog lights were already added on). This is my first time buying a car and looking at the whole pure price, it's very difficult to gage if its a good deal or not. I was quoted for 28.5k (not OTD price). Is this a fair price?

I'm still undecided on which twin to get. Since you can bargain down the BRZ and save a ton for a 2015 limited.

I paid 28.5 out the door on my asphalt monogram.

Hi there, and welcome to the forum - you're in for a wild time

As for your question (note - I do not own the car, but have done more research than is healthy, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt), I would say it is inline with most prices in the Bay Area, and on the low side of the average. You can reference the KBB value (which is how, at least in cali, 90% of dealers appraise their cars), which is $28,550 (http://www.kbb.com/scion/fr-s/2014-s...s=5753145|true)

Remember - this price (as I have learned from this thread) is a starting point. I would try to work him down, if you can

Has anyone else worked down the prices at the dealership? After talking to a few dealers in the SoCal area, they all seem intent on selling it at their "Pure Price" crap

If they only have the same year car. IE all 2014s on the ground they may not move on price. If they do, legally they have to do it for every single other frs on the ground of that year.

Now your costing them more than just the single discount. NOW, That being said.. Not all dealers play by the rules of Toyota.
