Throwing this out there, it was just posted a week ago and I watched it last night. I think its a fair comparison coming from other enthusiasts.

As for FI, I'm putting down great power (almost 400) and the car is an animal. You'll say goodbye to 98% of the cars out there in a straight or a corner, including the WRX or STi.

I don't think this was EVER a decision thread more of a "back me up" thread. Enjoy your new WRX lol...

Yup! Some people bought the 86 thinking it was something it isn't. It's a sports car. A driver's car. It's not a drag racer or an AWD 0-60 performance machine..

The limiting factor is going to be the direct injectors only on the WRX. Has anyone come up with a higher flowing direct injector yet? They are going to be fuel limited until then.

Give it time. I am guessing there is decent headroom left in this block while still keeping it CARB legal. (or very easy to put back come inspection time)

OP, I test drove a 2015 WRX and STI. I would go with the WRX hands down. If you want a sports car, get the 86. If you want an all-around car with some more punch, the WRX. If you want a properly boosted 86, get ready to pay more than an STI.
Wrx over sti? I honesty think I need to drive a boosted twin first before actually making a decision

I actually seen some turbo kits that can be easily flashed back to stock! Looks pretty awesome

What i mean with the WRX, you have a turbo thats carb legal. FRS if you wanted to be legit, you need to be handy to tear apart a turbo install, go back to stock, and the re-install.

Yes. The BRZ/FRS motor is in the WRX. Its a brand new modern engine. The STI is the same 10 year old thing, dated and over priced. The new WRX runs circles over the STI when comparing value and performance per dollar.

As for driving a boosted twin, it will blow your mind. But keep in mind when boosting an NA motor you'll either need to learn quite a bit about your car, modifications and maintenance or have a shop that can cater to your needs on demand.

Go to car meets. Make friends. Ask questions. Get involved. Someone will offer you a test drive.
