At the end of the day, HP and Torque are both joined at the hips. They are mathematically related. We often to refer to the word torque when referencing numbers below 5252 rpms, because torque values will be larger than HP. Above 5252 rpms, HP is a larger number and we often refer to HP when referring to gains for a given mod at higher rpms.

We have no immediate plans to test a smaller turbo, however, if I customer were to approach us and wanted to try out a GT(x)28xx turbo, we would definitely make it happen. I honestly feel that what we will gain in transient response, we'll lose in the 5-8k rpm range.

The thing is we hold a lot more torque in the upper rpms than most other turbo kits out there, especially with our 4-1 header in place. This makes revving out to 8k rpms beneficial. So in actually, even if we left a little bit on the table down low by going with a larger than average turbo, we more than make up for in the upper rpm range. This gives us a larger usable powerband than what might be expected.
