I would suggest you fill up your car's tank with premium gas (til the pump clicks off) and re-set the trip odemeter to 0.

Drive, keeping the rpms below about 4,000, till the tank is down to 1/4 full. Fill up at the same station at the same pump (to click off). Divide the miles driven by the gallons of gas consumed (or kilometers/liters).

Do this about 3 times, checking your milage each time. This will give you a good idea of your average gas milage.

Then come back with your findings ......
yup that's what I'm gonna do, I'm gong to finish the tank filled up by my dealer. Which I don't know which octane fuel they've filled up with.
Question is,when should I fill up the tank, when I get the low fuel light on the dash?. Well I'll go for Shell vpower over here. When you said to drive below 4k, till tank down to 1/4, when I reach 1/4 (I would have to check the odometer partial km travelled) well 1/4 of the tank would be equal to 12.5 litres right?.
Now something else something I'm trying to figure, out cause I've heard the D4s engine uses one top injector and another one.. at certain car revolutions. How does that impact fuel economy.. are there certain RPMS where some of the injectors optimize for fuel efficiency. I'm not being a mouse trying to save in fuel . But one thing is to have a figure which is pretty much what every single ppl does have with the FRS and something compeltely different what I'm going through with half a tank 25 litres having done only 89 km that's not acceptable at any parameter.
ANyways I will do what you say I will make my second refill with Shells vpower. When you say to recharge again at the same pump on the same station you mean the same specific number of pump ? not a different number of pump on the same station? that actually might vary on the fuel dispensed?

Doh typo! I meant to say, upshift into the highest gear possible. Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you.

Also, when you cost IN gear, you consume 0 gas, because your engine is driven by the "wheels".

However, if you coast NOT in gears but in neutral. You are actually consuming gas. The engine has to inject a small amount of gas into the engine in order to keep the engine spinning, or else the engine will stall.

Do correct me if I'm wrong though.
Coasting out of gear is technically illegal in most states.

Sorry, but you are wrong about coasting in gear. When you coast in gear, you do consume gas. If you didn't, your engine would stop running. The amount of fuel is indeed much less, but the engine is still burning fuel while coasting in gear. Even an engine driven by the wheels burns gas.

hey how on earth would you coast in gear , without pressing the gas pedal. the car would suddenly stop . don't get it. It would coast in gear but having the clutch pressed.

So if my calculations are not wrong, that's giving 201Km with half a tank ? (after how many tank refills, how was it when you first bought the car? )
Which fuel are you filling up with ?

I haven't driven anywhere far because I live in a big city. Never got a chance to drive far to test out the range. Every week I fill my tank with is 40 dollars with supreme 91 octane.
