That was not rev limiter, he was just feathering the throttle.

Generally speaking you will not be up shifting during a drift. Pick a gear, practice, especially on rainy days in abandoned parking lots.

imo your being too ambitious. start by hitting only the vsc button, taking off all the nannies is really a privilege you should earn through tons of closed course practice. but in essence vsc sport, gas in to a corner, countersteer, more gas, if you give too much the computer will keep you from completely spinning out. do that a few times until you figure out when the computer is braking for you. if you are feeling more ambitious do all of that plus try clutch kicking before the apex of the turn. but again be careful thats more aggresive driving.

Where is this drift area you speak of? I live just above you in Jacksonville

I always used this to do tight figure 8's in gymkhana and practice events, as a way of learning how little/much throttle to give the car to induce/maintain a slide.

Did I miss it? I didn't see him left foot braking in this video.

He did not. However, if someone was in, say, 2rd gear, and needed to check their speed or tighten up the radius of the turn without shifting gears, left foot braking would help.

I used this type of braking in gymkhana-type courses where there's a tight figure-8 configuration built in before/after a decreasing radius turn.

Oh i didn't know that was the grand opening, i was gonna go yesterday but i didn't feel like going there and to hot night imports on the same day. I saw your car btw, it was incredibly nice( and looow). I don't have my car yet, but when i get it i'm gonna try to get a similar stance.

P.S. those headlights and taillights were awesome as well.

Now i know its no where near the same thing, but i used to slide my 5,300 lb pickup in the rain or in the dirt with no issues. After a lot of practice i was able to get it down pretty smooth and transition my "drifts." Now with this car its a totally different nightmare. It just wants to keep spinning.

Any tips/tricks? I'm trying at relatively low speeds (~25-30mph) in 2nd gear. No ebrake used, either a clutch kick or just full power then release. Any advice is greatly appreciated and any shit talking is appreciated even more so - i love e-thuggin, it gives me a hardon.
Check the drifting thread in the track section of the forum. There are quite a few other new people in there who have asked similar questions. I'm sure you'll be able to get all the help you're looking for there if you take a look through it.

Furthermore, when fitted with a Torsen a car can be left foot braked usefully in low traction conditions, let alone high speed driving.

F1 drivers now routinely left foot brake, except for Jenson Button apparently, because trail braking can begin before the accelerator is released, for brake and tire heating and because while you now shift with your fingers you gave a useful limb to operate the brake pedal. Also, when ground effects to exhaust were permitted the driver actually used the accelerator while cornering on some situations, to get extra downforce from extra exhaust.

No less a luminary than Jackie Stewart recommends learning to left foot brake to be used whenever driving an automatic equipped car. It takes some doing unless you learn when starting out driving.

Top rally drivers have used this since before the days of Stig Blomqvist. Yes, there really is a Stig and he was a driving phenomenon.
