You may want to do some math to get a better 'picture':
X divided by Y times 100 equals Z - percentage of manual transmissions per year. X/Y x 100 = Z Given: Y equals the number of cars manufactured per year. X equals the number of manual transmissions sold with 1. All cars, OR 2. With just the FR-S/BRZ the car. Z equals percentage of manual transmission sold per year. UPDATE: 2013 total production for the BRZ (automatic and manual): 8000 vehicles (X,2). A generous estimate. World production (2012): 84,000,000 (Y) 8000 divided by 84,00,000 x 100 = 0.009 % That's about one one hundredth of one per cent the amount of manual transmissions of BRZ vs the world. and less if brz automatics are not included in the math. So "70%" don't mean much more than one tufted titmouse dropping in the city of New York.. Quote:

Hmm well apparently I'll have to move my seat
it only happens when I start the car up. Apparently I don't push all the way in when driving. No idea? All there is around here is autos and I wasn't impressed with how ruff it shifted. But honestly as long as it keeps together I don't care. 30 mpg or anywhere close to that will be amazing!!! Not that I drive much... I've had the Camaro for 4 months and don't even have 2k miles yet. |

Thank you for all the math..
I think all of us are pretty aware that AT is the norm and majority This post wasn't meant that we are actively changing it. But, as BRZ owners, we are making a point that there are still people buying MT over AT, when it is available for the consumer. With cars like 86, and when there's an option to get MT (and many cars don't have that option these days), 86 owners has spoken that there are people like us who will still pick MT. Quote:

I just drove by the dealer I bought from. In June they had five in stock and I bought the only MT. The four AT are still there. They haven't sold a BRZ since June.
I don't commute and on top of that there is no real traffic here. The area I live in is a country road playground. No need for AT and I think that is why they are not selling. I would not buy an MT if I had to use it to commute in traffic. |
