at least now we can pick and choose parts w/ Toyota part #s and just install them to our leisure w/o having to get JDM equivalent and spending an arm and a leg

Exactly.

I was hoping on picking up some items such as the armrest and frameless mirror so this is good.

I still just want the headlights. I've already done the push butten start thing, it's nice but I wouldn't pay extra for it.

I'm curious to see how the armrest works, if it's integrated into the body molding or just sitting in the center tray like most of the aftermarket stuff.

Also curious to see if this will be a limited availability car like the 10 Series, or just an options package.

Don't assume too quickly. If it's called "Monogram", does that make it another limited issue? Maybe not limited in quantity but limited in time. Making it similar to what has been said about the 10-series.

Remember what was said about the 10 series. People thought it would've been feasable to order 10 series parts but they're only for 10 series vehicle repairs.

I don't understand people in this thread. Almost all of these features could be found on a BRZ Limited. If you really wanted these features over the current FR-S, why would you just not buy the BRZ Limited? For most people, my guess is pricing,. and with Scion Pure Pricing I expect the street price of this "Monogram" series to buy higher than a BRZ since Subaru dealers (at least in most areas) are negotiating off MSRP.

I personally don't understand why Toyota did not offer this model to begin with in the States, but I am happy they are now.

And when the BRZ/FR-S future model is eventually released that has some refreshed styling and more power, I certainly won't be mad. We all know it is coming eventually. I would probably trade my car in for it...

gotta love how early adopters get shafted, again and again. First the series 10, had better options, now the mono series will have better options. Soon enough, ill have to mod my fr-s to keep up.

Your right, next time you should just wait until they release that perfect FT86 model that has everything you could ever want (even future technologies that have not been released yet)... Then you won't ever feel "shafted again" when buying a car...

Am I the only person who prefers low trim levels? hell i would have taken manual windows if they offered it. I'm quite happy with the current trim level offered. I kind of purposely got mine before end of the model year because I was afraid they would start making things like push button start and the bespoke head unit standard.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they are offering a second trim level now. they should have offered it from the beginning.

I second this. Honestly the FR-S was originally meant to offer the thrills of a GT-86, but at a lower entry level price that everyone could afford. The BRZ (to me) has always been viewed as the one with more options (for a different price).

Variety and choice should be seen as a good thing. However, I personally think Toyota should have mirrored Subaru (premium spec and higher tier GT 86 trim) at launch. To me it seems like they are trying to gauge the market demand for this.

The car is still mechanically the same....just remember that.

Those are nice options, but I am fine with my car. Besides the cars price tag will go up substantially, this car was marketed as an affordable sports car. My guess is that Toyota wants us to trade ours in for the new model and they make money on your car and the new one. Im going to try to hold on to mine for as long as possible.Let make the 2013 A CLASSIC

I haven't bought an FR-S yet. So, the new model trims I'm fine with all the options except the leather seats. HATE leather seats, and really just want the headlights.

They should offer this under Toyota as a GT86 and keep the FR-S barebones for Scion.

I don't understand why everyone is wanting the option with more features. Sure the features are nice but the GT-86 was meant to be a back to basics rear wheel drive car for a market that previously could only turn to a mazda miata. I personally am glad I have mine without any special features. I like climbing in the car and cranking the engine with the key, to me thats a lot better than just pushing a button to wake the car. Cars nowadays have too much going on, distracting the driver from the car and preventing the driver from just enjoying the drive. Its rare that a modern car makes you want to just drive for the sake of driving, and the GT-86 was all about bringing that feeling back. And when I see people on a forum dedicated to this car wanting center armrest (which you shouldn't even use if you're driving) and power folding mirrors it just makes me sad. I don't understand it.

/end rant/
