Haha that was pretty much the same experience I had and was referring to in post #33. I think it's hilarious that the only person that thanked that post is Doomsday Jesus.

I set it at 86 and the car started drifting by itself.

Actually around 1500, sounds smooth unless you try to accelerate in which case it lugs so I downshift before accelerating.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, personally think 1500 is the bottom end of operating this engine at load, I try not to accelerate under 1800.

tested further, and yeah 6th gear.....69mph is max...I am going to try to reflash an older tune and see if that lets me. I do seem to recall, my old tune, did not have the ecutek features(launch control adjustment on cruise switch) turned on, and i believe the cruise worked before that. So wondering if my tuner somehow turned something off? Really strange.

I work on a military base where the speed limit is enforced to the point where it's actually comical. The speed limit is 25mph most of the time, and luckily my DD Hyundai's minimum cruise control speed is 25mph. I use it on base more than anywhere else, so for me it's more of a trying-not-to-get-a-ticket-for-doing-2mph-over thing than it is laziness.

Engines operate most efficiently under steady state steady load, a computer is capable of doing that better than a human can. I'm just looking at the scenery anyway, might as well save a couple drops of fuel and have something interesting* to think about.

*Note: different people have different definitions of interesting.

Whether it is 25 mph or 65 mph the reasoning that one might have is the same.
"a couple of drops" is close to accurate unless one drives with cruise control A LOT and drives conservatively without c. control..

I don't know how many speeding tickets I've avoided by setting mine to 70-75

I just stumbled upon this limitation a couple weeks ago. I tried setting it at 92, and it dropped to 91. Then I tried 93, and it dropped to 91. 94...dropped to 91. That's the limit on my car. Lame. I've never heard of such a thing in any other car.
Is there a way to disable this?

Oh, I love cruise control too! I find myself using it in the most unnecessary of places!

And the cruise control will let you accelerate past 4k, but it won't let you "set" past 4k. So the revs will just fall until you get back to 4k.

I often set mine at 25mph since I must go thru several school zones depending upon which direction I take to get out of the neighborhood and I KNOW the area is being monitored at the beginning of school year.

I bet no one can get lower than that!

I've often tried setting it at 20mph (stupid speed limits on site at work), and it doesn't work. Seems around 25 is the minimum set speed, but I have been able to lower the speed after setting it at 25.
