I originally purchased my FR-S in July of this year, with the intention of using it as my daily driver. But my round trip commute to work is roughly 100 miles and after putting on more than 1,800 miles in just 4 weeks, signing up at Scion.com and looking at the mileage predictions 3~4 years down the road, based on my current mileage, it's now sitting in the garage, enjoying the down time. And two weeks ago I bought a low-mileage, 2010 Honda Fit Sport for my commute. Which means more money than I wanted to spend, but in the end, I think I'll be happier. On the first tankful, the Fit managed 38 mpg. And on regular gas. Which is something to consider when you drive >20,0000 miles/year.

I just cancelled my snow tire order from Tire Track and it makes me kind of happy knowing that I can keep the FR-S away from all the salt and sand and gravel. I'll probably drive the car to work once in a while, but for the most part it will be boxed away for the weekends. And let me tell you, after driving the Fit all week, I appreciate the FR-S that much more.

Another consideration was possibly binning the car during a track event and not having back-up transportation. I suppose accidents can happen anywhere, but you know what I mean.

Weekends...but not every weekend

I've driven it about 400 miles in 3.5 months..

Don't want to drive it to work because I usually come home dirty...
