197 is bhp.

that results in 200 horsepower (149 kW; 203 PS) at 7,000 rpm

Edit: tl;dr if your only source of car info is Top Gear, you'll think it has 197 hp because that's what the GT86 sold in Europe is tuned for. I'm not sure about Japan but I don't care that much.

For this discussion we're using the term interchangeably.

I was told I was an idiot for supercharging my BRZ because "Subaru's are only meant for turbos". 0_o

I think fast is a relative term. If you came from an old 90s car like I did, the response of the gas pedal and the ability to take these corners. When people ask if its fast, I say it's quick, and spunky for a four cylinder.

Just so people know I was bitching about people bitching about people saying their car wasn't fast.

Anyways, the car isn't slow, but when people think fast I don't think it falls anywhere near that category. Especially when you have other cars in a close price range that aren't considered "fast" that are a good amount faster.

But yes, it has a great throttle response, handling, it feels faster than it is, and it's lightweight with a small engine giving it a feeling of agility reminiscent to a go-kart. It is a lot of things, but still not fast. Saying it isn't fast is definitely not the dumbest thing that can be said. It's quite accurate.

I've got the Toyota with the Aero kit. The rear wing is huge!

Lady at work sees it in the carpark and says "why do you have an ironing board strapped on the back of it?". Immediately followed by "are you turning 40?"

The answer is yes! I'm in full midlife crisis mode and loving it.

To be fair, a lot of people think gigantic wings on public streets are a bit absurd and asking why you attached an ironing board to your car is a pretty funny (although rude) way of pointing it out.
