Let fate decide. Tell the dealer you'll take white or black, whichever one he gets first.

I got dgm, I'm suprised at how well it hides water spots from rain compared to my old black cars. Having owned both black and white cars in the past I went with something else, and I love my DGM. But like everyone is saying its your choice, only you have to live with it...or plastidip to another color and have fun!

Because it's reflecting off the "brown" wet ground. I'm not going to sit down and argue with you, but I can assure you this is white and not beige

The first BRZ available in my area was a WRB Premium and I wanted a Limited so I waited. WRB is my favorite color and looks amazing on this car. For me though I think it's a little too flashy and I don't like all the extra attention that it would get. The next one available was CBS and I couldn't wait any longer so I took it. Sometimes I second guess my choice as it looks best clean and I am way too lazy to wash it every day. I have a gravel driveway and it's always getting dusty or mud splashed but that is just something I'd have to accept with any color. After debadging, tinting, changing sidemarkers and maybe the tails I think I will be really happy with black in the long run. Everyone says the black looks classy and makes it hard to identify at first which I like. The SWP reminds me of a Supra and definitely shows off the curves better. I don't think you can go wrong with any color on this car so I would vote first available at with the options and price you want.

Comedian Bill Burr recently ranted on white cars which made me much happier with my decision to get black (starts at 29:06)

When I parked my trade-in at the dealer to see the FR-S in person, a whiteout FR-S was parked on the walkway next to the showroom, right in front of us. That's the car we bought.

My oldest son agreed with some here that the white looked brownish, but it was later in the day and the sunset was altering the color. I like that the paint changes depending on the sun's intensity. Brighter sun makes it look a brighter white.

If I could have any color, I'd choose ALL of them and drive a different one each day of the week. The summer heat in Bakersfield made whiteout the choice for me. No matter which color you get, you will still have an 86 that looks incredible.

More important decisions are ahead: which wheels with which tires, springs or coilovers, which exhaust, supercharger or turbo, etc. That's part of the fun.

If you have wheels and future mods mapped out, or a style you are going for, color choices should be a bit easier.

I personally like the panda look, taken from the Initial D AE86, so if you plan on using any CF parts, a lighter color car will stand out with the contrast more.

I personally think contrasting elements look better on a light base color rather than dark base (black car with white lip kit, white gt wing will look weird compared to a white car with black accents etc.).

Now if you want to "murder out" your car, then black is the only way to go.

White/Black contrast can be played out, but it is hard to F it up if you are not good at color coordinating. Here is my Panda work in progress, white/black contrast with CF/Brushed black metal/Matte black.

NO way. having two cars is (just a few):

Needing two license plates.
two sets of Insurance.
two sets of keys and trying to find the "other set".
Double the parking space - even in a three car garage.
If living in Michigan, double the 'catastrophic insurance' fee.
Two sets of winter tires and wheels.
twice the amounts of miscellaneous stuff one would usually keep in the a car .
Twice the amount of washings and other do-it-yourself maintenance.

Solution: Buy ONE Porsche Cayman (in silver, of course)..

I was torn on the same choice before I choose my white BRZ. I had owned 3 black cars before. The reasons I chose Pearl White (In order of Importance):

1. More color contrast with white against features of the car. (Black headlights, Side Fender, Tinted Windows, Rims, even the Antenna if you don't add a shark fin) All those things contrast against the white paint and really adds attention to the overall detail of the car.
2. Black hides the sexy shape of the car. No point in having a great looking car if you can't see the lines of it.
3. It's not just "white". The Pearl White looks way better than any other plain white car you'll see or park next to! There's plenty of black cars out there. You don't see a whole lot of Pearl White out there. People do notice the difference, and so will you.
4. Black gets dirty fast
5. Gotta keep tires clean otherwise the tired and paint don't go well together
6. Black gets very hot in Texas
7. There's a reason that Whiteout on FRS costs extra. The Pearl White color is a premium color! Black is just plain old black!

This is just my opinion. Hope it helps.
