Would everyone agree that the 1ZZFE and 2ZZGE were designed to be high revving engines designed to be shifted at 8k RPM?
How come a lot of people that drove them hard had oil starvation problems, and started throwing rods. While people that drove them to ~5k rpms didn't have the same issues. Just because a Ford Raptor is seen doing dirt jumps, it doesn't mean a Ford Raptor can go jump everyday. Yes, the FR-S is a car to have fun in but hitting the rev limiter and burning rubber everyday will accelerate wear and cause problems in a few years. I drive my current car hard through corners and I see to wear and tear on my suspension parts I put on it 3 years ago. I believe the OP has a auto. They have friction disks and a driver will have no control over how they slip or burn. Time will tell how durable these trannys and motors are.... |

I wouldn't worry too much about the wheels falling off in 2 years if you're driving the thing hard (unless you're abusing it... if you dump the clutch at 5500rpm a few times a day, you're earning your repair costs), just don't be stupid about it. And definitely don't put other drivers or your passengers at risk. |

I personally think that the 86 was made for the stuff that you're doing to it so you're good, just don't hit the rev limiter too hard and don't do it very often and I mean very often as in every 30 minutes or so. Plus, if you've got warranty then you have nooooothing to worry about.
