The GM at my local Toyota dealer told me personally that my unit will be in stock tomorrow (and so will his). He keeps his own FRS at the dealer, so tomorrow when they come in his tech will look at it. I should have a solid confirmation of plug n play/features, etc, tomorrow or Friday at latest.

This is what I wanted to hear! I think the dealer is worried that they will have to physically mess around with the dash to get the unit to fit.

That's understandable since they probably knew the slot for the headunit isn't double-DIN and wasn't sure if the stereo was double-DIN or not.

On the other hand, for those looking at getting an aftermarket double-DIN headunit instead, you can get these spacers from Subaru (link) to fill in the gaps on the sides.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ready to throw another $600 on top of the worthless BeSpoke unit I already paid for, but I'm left with the question of:

Will my old BeSpoke receive an update?

I'd hate to wind up with two stereos despite the fact that the old one does look a bit tacky.

Would like to know the same thing. Current bespoke needs an update.

Wish it was android compatible too :/

Considering to use that pile of crap they supply you with ONLY a connector for a last gen iphone, they would suddenly have to do a lot of changing around and not to mention i'm sure the hardware is probably wildly different.

And yes, I know with the new app that Android actually connects and is used through bluetooth (which is hilarious they couldn't do that to BEGIN WITH) but that new app, again, probably has chips inside the new head unit that it needs to be compatible which means old units are screwed.

Oh, and do you really think any car company would willingly upgrade what they consider a "last gen" device when they can have you pay an exorbitant amount of money to upgrade?

As a semi-redundant question. Are those people ordering this unit having the dealer install it, or assembling it themselves?

i'd install it myself. pop off passanger panel (just 6 clips, grab and tug. remove head unit surround, again gran and tug. remove 4 easy to access screws. pull out old head unit. remove harnesses. reverse to reinstall. 5-10 minute procedure.

Has anyone actually verified that this new 2014 headunit is dimensionally equivalent and will bolt in appropriately? The pictures from Moto-P look like the case, however I have yet to see an install performed on a 2013 MY.

To be clear, I am looking to upgrade from the base 2013 unit (not bespoke).
