Feeling the pain fellow dented BRZ owner. (Mine is even white as well) I don't have a lot of advice other than to say it sucks. My total bill is up to 17K and over a month in the shop. (went to the shop on 3/25/13) and its still not done. They replaced everything on the outter shell except the front and rear bumber and the driver and passanger windows. Everything else is new. They wouldnt total it because it didnt do 70% of value in damage. Apparently the hard part was finding all the parts and getting the correct paint codes. Dealers kept giving the body shop the wrong code or something.
Chin up and all that stuff, thats why we buy insurance. Noone was hurt and cars can be repaired. |

To put my two cents in. My experience was pretty painless. The insurance company knew what needed to get done. Quoted me the panel swaps without me saying anything. The shop got it done in 2 and a half weeks. Came back looking good as new.

Lmao.. This guy, look they made it out of thicker steel, people would complain about weight, thinner more expensive steel, people would complain about cost, thinnest, lightest, most cost effective steel and people complain about how easy it is to dent.. Can't win with everyone.. Good PDR guys don't always cost a fortune, but find the guy with the reputation is the way to go.. Getting the panels all fixed is even better.. I've tried learning the skill and its not as easy as the people make it look.. Like the advice given take it to the place you want to that has the best rep no matter what

i would recommend "dent wizard." did mine a few years ago,and never knew it was dented when he got done. as far as the steel is concerned,all cars use a "thin" gauge
steel,so it's rendered academic. japanese use 'recycled" steel,we use virgin steel.american cars get dented when encountering hail too,because of the thin gauge... |

@v33vo and @meow mix
I got stuck in the same storm in OKC on Friday and somehow only managed to get 2 dings on my entire car (but I was in Warr Acres). Myer's is one of the best in OKC (not cheap if you pay out of your own pocket but awesome work). Most insurance will only pay for PDR but as bad as most of those panels are I'd say they will replace most of them with new sheet metal. I'd get an estimate (or several) before the insurance guy comes out.

I took my car to State Farm and they quoted the damages at $9100. Replacing the hood, roof, trunk, and fenders and repairing the rear quarter panels, doors, and sections over the doors. My only question is: if this place charges more per hour than State Farm quoted, will I just be out that money or will they supplement it? |

State Farm will pay the difference, but the body shop has to tell them that it's going to be more expensive.
