I've never owned a silver car (well some gunmetal, I guess that could be a dark silver with blue :P) and I still thought it was boring on the FR-S.

It's not the same silver, but I did some research and came up with some solid proof. but it's in the other thread, I'm sure Dave and Grinch will see it XD

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...867#post124867

Shouldn't be too hard to hunt down a Silver Legacy from 2008... just not sure if they had this silver in the USA.

This is as solid as it's going to get, the color codes matches and everything. But here's the catch... In the USA they had "Brilliant Silver Metallic" for the Legacy of those same years... so Sterling Silver could be a Japan only Silver.

Ok here is my review, I focused on the Interior because the exterior is sorta subjective subjective. I will say this Silver is gorgeous, and the Spoiler looks good on the car. On to the interior...

(Ichi is chillin on the hood)

I spent about 4 hours over in just the import car floor of the Washington DC auto Show. So here is how I based my review I found the cars that are as close to what I thought would be from what I used to own and what is sort of main stream. So I went to the newer version of the car I used to own so I used a 2012 Honda Civic Si as my standard base of measure, and a Mazda Miata that’s nearby to gauge my better judgment, and a WRX STI for the best Judgments. I drive a Forester currently and the STi is definitely similar to the Forester in the interior so I’m going from an owner’s experience.

Because the subject of the exterior is so subjective and differ from individual to individual; I will tell you about my preferences for the exterior. For the interior I will back up all claims with the two cars mentioned above. Before we begin, I went to look at this car with 2 other friends and car enthusiast I am 6’0 and about 150 pounds, my other friend was 5’9 at about 170 and my last is 5’11 and he’s 200 pounds because he plays football for his school.

So for someone who came from a Civic Si I can tell you sitting in the Subaru BRZ the interior quality of the Limited Trim were much better, a lot of soft touch the only really big disappointment for the dash is the silver plastic trim piece being very cheap. The plastic piece that sits on top of the automatic shifter was of the same material. I did not like that very much, but thought back to the hard plastic surfaces of the Civic and well I would definitely take the BRZ interior over that one.

I asked the other two friends and they felt the same way, we then compared it to the Miata, We thought that the BRZ interior was better than the Miata the Miata’s interior came off as very hard as well, but it was still much better than a Civic Si. The seats were very nice(best part of the interior imho) we all sat very snuggled in them, my bigger 200lbs friend said that he still felt very comfortable. But he did comment that “Anyone bigger than me might not feel as good” so I’m not sure how it would feel for someone over 200lbs.

(My friend sitting in the back of the car, notice the front passenger seat is just about to touch the dash)

Rear visibility was very good, compared to the 370z but here I would have to say my old Civic and the new one we tried had much better visibility. So now we tried, with the seating, unfortunately dude to some technical difficulties with the equipment I was only able to procure one picture to show. Let’s say this

The back seats are useless for grown men.

But you can fit easily children or more petite women inside the back and the passenger seat. She will not fit behind the driver. When we tried me being 6’0 my knees were starting to hit the steering wheel. One of my friends made the comment that if it was like the GTI steering wheel where the bottom is flat my knees might clear. I just also want to note that it has no steering wheel buttons; I think that maybe an option. So to get to the biggest point of this summary compared to the other cars and from my personal judgment.

This interior is worth 25K of a car meaning if Subaru price this at 30K with this interior it’s over priced. Now if the Premium version and the Scion FRS was anything close to the current Scion and or is even close to the Civic Si in interior quality I’m definitely ok with it. But for someone looking for more then that definitely… look towards the Limited Trim BRZ because I think it’s well worth the investment, It’s a good car and you get not a lot, but everything you need and just a little more for comfort.

Hi
If you have any questions feel free to ask, luckily there was barely anyone so I probably sat in the BRZ for the longest just taking down notes. Lol the car was closed off so they let me inside then closed it off again we had a good time with the BRZ.

I will be posting more pictures in the future.
hi could you tell me if the dashboard is soft I have a TC. And I like the dash of it is the brz has the same quality dash thanks

The BRZ dash is much softer than the one on the TC, althought I'm not expecting the non limited BRz to have the same feel. I'm thinking the normal might feel just like a TC.

I know what you mean i was interested in the veloster before this car came out and the veloster hadn't even been released and people were anxious for a turbo version.

So people actually drive with their arm on the armrest? I usually keep my right hand on the shifter even if its an automatic,

Im 6 and i had about one hand lenght to the roof of the car from thetop of my head, so you should be fine with a standard helmet.

I generally drive with my hands on the wheel. Hand on the shifter (in a MT) in theory is bad since you are putting pressure on the shift linkages/shift forks all the time.

In SW20 MR2s and S2000s the armrest is positioned so high that you can put your elbow on it and have your hand on the wheel/shifter. Those are the only two cars I can recall ever using the armrest as an armrest instead of concealed storage.

In my Fit I don't use the armrest but in my miata I do. It all depends on where your arm is when you sit down and put you and on the shifter.

Yeah, some of them. i do it because i drive something that definitely is not a sports car by any means. straight line comfort is the only thing it has, so i can cruise comfortably.
