Honda is so out of touch as to what people want as far as a sporty car...the NSX is a perfect example of how they have no clue. First off the hybrid nonsense, this will not be a light car like the original NSX, not to mention that they are putting electric motors in the front for the front wheels, a battery has to go somewhere, and then you run the issue of not really being able to upgrade this car like the old NSX.
This is a design exercise that will likely run $150,000 or more and it's competition at that price point is absurd. You have Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570's (which will likely get a replacement in that segment by 2015), the Audi R8, Nissan's GT-R Black Series, C7 Corvette ZR-1 (should be out by then), and the looming release of the Toyota Supra successor as well. Sure there will be some people that like the R8ish looks with an Acura badge and the eco friendliness of the hybrid powertrain, but in the end I see this as a weak entry in to the supercar world. Take all that into account and apply that to the prospect of a new S2000 and things look bleak. Honda has gotten fat on the econobox lunch wagon and has lost it's way. I am saddened by this but as long as Nissan and Toyota don't screw up massively there will be at least a few interesting cars coming out of Japan. |

Heck maybe Honda should go all Chevy/Ford and a do a retro version of the mid 70's Civics. I LOVED my dark green '77 Civic Wagon. Even had poser wide tires on the back of it to make it look like "right" to a guy who grew up on American Muscle. (CAUTION: Honda motorcycle fanboiage ahead) I agree about Honda automobiles, and even the bikes the past few model years, just bizarre engineering exercise stuff. That said, some of this year's crop is showing some promise, particularly on the smaller displacement side. They are finally getting the seat height back down to reasonable, and the styling is much better. The CTX700 and 700N particularly fill a niche that was missing in the lineup. Don't get me started on the anemic tank sizes on their new bikes though.

All they need to do is just redesign the body of the s2k. Keep the suspeniond and the engine. And just redo the body. Make into a coupe instead of a convertible

Yay for new versions of old arse rumors.
If Honda made a real 86 competitor, my BRZ would likely be up for sale in a heartbeat.

![]() Though, I love my local Subaru dealership, and really hate the Honda dealership. Their service is horrible! Though I got a kick out of always driving up in the S2000 and watching the salesmen stare longingly at it and then verbally lament to me about how they no longer sell it.
