I go in neutral and cruise to. The stop sign. Then just shift to first and go on my merry way

You're supposed to stop for a full 3 seconds. What you described is a California roll and will get you a ticket if a cop sees you.

ive never seen anyone stop at a sign for three seconds when they have the right of way. even if you do, its only three seconds.
