Some say use the F108, the fumoto site says F105. Which one are people ordering?

I purchased mine from Qwikvalve.com and they say use the 108, although I haven't installed it yet. The sizes and applications page on the Fumoto web site appears to have some inaccuracies for both the Subaru and Scion models, maybe just dated information.

Thanks, ---Where is the 'Thanks' button on this forum? Does it only show up after a certain number of posts?

What makes it a gift set? They put a bow on it?

It had nice green and red streamers inside the box... LOL!

It came with additional stuff... Safety clip, two hose end clips, black valve cover, and a long piece of clear hose for draining the oil :-)

I just ordered the 108s because I like the idea of using a hose to drain into a container. Oil pans have always annoyed me. I was wondering how long the hose can be to adequately drain all the oil. Or if it even matters at all.. Do I need to place my container below the valve or is there enough pressure to push all the oil out if I had the tube running out the valve and into a container on the ground next to the vehicle? Ill be trying a 3 foot tube, probably 6 inch lift with my rigged rhino ramps.

What container are you draining into? Depending on the height you might just be able to get a container that fits directly underneath the Fumoto valve.

I still use a pan (for other cars without Fumoto) but this is handy:

Just find something smaller and drain with that.

Yea, that's the container I was thinking of but now I'm contemplating a much bigger drum with a hand pump... I wonder what the resale value of used oil is. If any.

Draining is not pressurized per se, it's up to gravity. You may be able to get a siphon to work with a longer hose, but I'd expect a mess.

The valve empties like a faucet so it's very easy to anticipate and control. For what you're trying to do directly into a bottle-like container, I'd recommend this:

1- Crack open the oil filter to allow air in and avoid glugging.
2- Raise the car high enough to slide your container underneath, with at least 2-4" clearance under the oil pan. According to the container you mentioned, that oil pan would need to be minimum 14-16" off the ground as the container is nearly a foot tall by itself.
3- Use a clear short hose that won't fall into the bottle (about 6-8" with a wire hook wrapped snug around it a couple inches from the top).
4- Place the hose in the container, hooked to the lip.
5- Slide it under the car and simply lift the hose a couple inches to connect it to the fumoto valve. (you may need to first attach the white plastic hose nipple that I believe comes with the 108s).
6- Open valve and let it drain. The clear hose will let you see if much is still draining.
6- Close the valve, detach hose/nipple and slide container out from under the car. Replace filter and fill. Done.

This is almost exactly what I do, but I use a slightly different pan that's only about 6" high and don't bother with a hose. I only jack the front of the car a few inches, just high enough to reach under and open/close the valve.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'll do. At least for the first change. I certainly assumed gravity did most of the work. I'm still going to look into siphoning from the valve so I can keep my large used oil drum in place without having to use a canister to transfer.

If you put together that setup, take some pics! Also it might be a good idea to cap the hose, or use a check valve or pinch-style clamp to prevent leaking during setup/teardown.
