As for the OD taper on the base of the ring, wouldn't you want to keep it there since the back of the wheel pushes against it to help keep it in place?

I was thinking that the lip may be enough. And a fairly tight fit. I could be wrong. Any reason that wouldn't work?

Its supposed to be warm one day this week so I can mount the wheel and measure clearance.

Not sure if it fully rests against that inner lip or not, whereas it would most definitely reset up against the outer one. I guess that's the real question.

I drew it up so that it will rest against that inner lip (nearest to wheel face). The reason I would like to keep away from the taper is that if it is a a couple degrees off it could keep the wheel from fully seating and tightening properly. I measured the taper on the wheel at 48 degrees. Don't have a great way to measure that accurately.

Looks great. I'd be in for a set at a reasonable price... I'm picking my Weds up this weekend.

Looks clean - I'm interested. PM me details please.

By the way, any chance they can be made shorter or is that height required to clear the hub?

I don't have the time to make a bunch of these myself so I reached out to a few machine shops for quotes. Should have a good idea of cost this weekend. Just looked up the price of the wedssport caps.. These will without a doubt be less than that.

Would you guys prefer anodized or bare aluminum so you can paint them? I was thinking black anodize for looks and durability. A silver color may clash with your silver wheels since it most likely won't match very well.

There are a few pics of cars with this wheel lowered on coils and springs.

F1point4 put some excellent before and after shots up.
