Wait, can it do the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs? If it can I'm all over the Subie version.

Actually, go back and recheck your post. You did say you wouldn't buy the Subie over the Toyo if the only diff was power and also not drivetrain.

It's irrelevant to the point you were trying to make that the STI brand is only for cars that came out of WRC racing. I showed you the STI Forester as proof that this isn't the case.

And they're privateers. Exactly! Subaru does not make production models just to satisfy privateers' racing dreams.

Yes, I can. Homologation is why. Subaru did not create a production STI Forester for the Japanese Domestic Market just to satisfy racing in a European circuit, because that wouldn't be allowed. Period.

It's pretty self-explanatory. Unless Subaru somehow knocks one out of the park and their version is better at accelerating (by a large margin!), braking, handling, ride, comfort, build quality (yeah, right!) and only at a marginal price increase, I'm gonna go with the 'yota.

Preaching to the converted here. I love my Subie, and may get another in the future, but for this car, I want the Toyota, for the same reasons as you.

I did & I didn't see & don't remember writing it... but I stand to be correct.

Correction, I wrote "back in 90's anyways" not "only" for FIA WRC. Which means, "They used to" and not "they still do" and yes you show me Forester STI and I showed you that Forest STI been used for WRC by Subaru France anyways.

As for privateer, when Colin McRae drove 22B in FIA WRC all the techs & team were from Prodrive (not from Subaru or STi). Prodrive is sponsor by Subaru/STI & Austin Martin, but still a privateer. Subaru does make cars for privateers to gain their (Subaru's) fame & title.

K, how do you define 22B? Yeah, they claim that it were for Subaru's 40th anniversary as well as the 3rd consecutive manufacturer's title for Subaru in the FIA World Rally Championship, but to win the 3rd consecutive manufacturer's title, they had to released the 22B to the Public for certain amount/time. 5 month of production with 399 was released in JP and 25 was released in UK (& 16 of em were mod & sold by Prodrive).

Here's another one. Suzuki Swift Sport. that was made for AJRC, and yr later they released 3dr MT ver only, so Suzuki Sport Europe can compete in JWRC.

Manufactures don't care bout homologation. They only care bout fame. More famous they get, more ppl gonna buy their cars/etc.

Hm, we'll see. I can't say STI ver gonna be better at accelerating, braking, handling, ride, comfort, build quality and price, cuz they haven't shown any physical concept on any auto show yet and I'm pretty sure a lot of auto mags, sites, & etc gonna do the comparison when both edition is released. BUT as for quality, I'm pretty sure FT-86c and STI gonna be bout the same, cuz they gonna be built at same place: Indiana (well US anyways).

Damnit. You mean the FT for the N. American market will be built in a US factory and not Japan? Crap...

Oh, and I'm not replying to the rest of your points because I've already addressed them, you just aren't seeing it, and you're going off on tangents.

1- Group A is where the Celica WRC used to race.
2- Group N..... why would any serious manufacturer build a car to go racing in Group N?

http://www.insideline.com/subaru/toy...the-works.html

Wait, I want to know the answer to this question as well. All the original articles about this car stated that both models would be built at Subaru's Gunma plant. I know things have been changing rapidly over the last year when it comes to info about this car but haven't heard anything about a change in where the car will be built. Do you have links to the new info about North American models being built in Indiana? I couldn't find anything about that on the net.
