You gotta brutally launch a WRX to get fast times in a st8 line, otherwise it aint much quicker than your 86 !

Nope. You're dreaming. The WRX is far quicker than the 86, even keeping the clutch intact.

That being said. Which is more fun?

I was filling up yesterday and some guy started telling me how good of a choice I made getting the "awd" Subaru version over the Scion. He claimed to have test driven both and the choice was obvious...I just went along with it to not make him feel stupid.

I know these types of people. They want to pose as "connoisseurs", but if I was you I would've told him that Subaru is front wheel drive and Scion is rear and then asked him to google it. At some point he would've realised that he knows sH*t about the (non existent) difference between them. Or plan B: just punch them in the face for being utterly stupid . I love plan B but never get to use god damn it!

Friday I went into my bank to discuss finance options. I said I want to get a new car. Conversation went like this:
Me: Yeah, I am getting a new car
Bank guy: Oh ok, what car?
Me: A GTS...Toyota 86 GTS (with a James Bond attitude )
Bank guy: Ahhh, nice that's the sport car, right?
Me: Yeah it is (and thinking wow, some do know about this car and smiled thinking that he knows the car and he might like it too)

then the guy takes his paper work out and writes down some stuff and then he asked: So that's an 86' model right? I mean it's from 1986?

I appreciate that people have different opinions and some might think the 86/BRZ is crap/too slow blah blah blah. I can fully deal with that. What I have trouble with is when people get facts so completely wrong.

On way home from work on a casual Monday arvo,
Cop pulls me over.
Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Me: err nope
Cop: you didn't slow down for that roundabout.
Me: my speed was 60. I was in a 60 zone.
Cop: yes I know, it's not illegal it's just dangerous, main reason why I pulled you over is to have a look at an 86 up close.
Me: err.. Go nuts officer...

I'd do stuff like that all the time if I was a traffic cop.

I would also pull over and yell at all the idiots in Sydney that insist on driving 20kph under the speed limit in perfect conditions.

Probably a good thing I'm not a cop...

Washed my car this morning.

Thought someone snapped my windscreen wipers, then realised they have a cut in them to bend against the windscreen.
