you cannot buy separately from mirror body. The picture you see in another my thread about "genuine module" of Subaru explains the part reference of the right mirror body "motorized" of European (LHD) grade.
In Europe each mirror body without mirror and cover has a cost of Eur 402.00 + taxes (vary from 19% to 22%).
Verify with canadians dealer if there are lower costs or online you can buy from www.teile-profis.de from Germany.

Forgive me because it's only my second week with the car... so I was just thinking this would be nice to have (electric folding mirrors) when parking on small streets.... this lunch time I pressed a small button next to the electric mirror joystick (wondering what it did) and in fact it folds the mirrors!

So electric folding mirrors seems "standard" in some places.... so I guess for people that don't have it, it must be possible to buy the "Toyota" parts as an option instead of taking a third party system? Is it not?

My parking space at work is a little old ladies drive way I rent. My current car is a Clio compact/hatch back. The gates of the drive way are about 3 inches wider than the mirrors. However, the GT86 is 5.5 inches wider than the Clio. Therefore electric folding mirrors will be essential unless I want to climb across the passenger seat to fold the other one in .

What I don't quite understand is why are some people on this thread talking like as if they are building a track purpose car? Adding more weight? Who cares. It might be something people want it for their own needs and reason. We don't all share the same opinion.

This would be a pretty cool addition to the FR-S as I was always so proud of having perhaps the narrowest car in the neighborhood making some parking situations a little more of a relief. It was a e30 318is. If that thing had folding mirrors that would have been insane! My e30 M3? Not so much..

To this day, after nearly 2 years I find this car still a bit of a challenge backing into parking spots. I always think I have less than foot behind me, I get out and I always have at least 2 feet. lol. Guess I'm getting old now or I gotta turn down the tunes. If there's any consolation I saw a guy in a Corvette get out of his car the other day to safely back into his spot..

LOL, I will miss my current car for parking when the GT finally arrives. Presently if I really, really need to know just how far back I can go, I just keep going until I feel the bump!

If reversing is an issue, why not install the reverse radars (they're an option, approx 250$ I think), that way it beeps when you get close

I have those, as a dealer mounted option. They work ok. Not very precise.
I think reverse camera is also an option now for the GT86.

J'aime mon 86 avec electroniques minimal. Je souvene le Mustang avoir le radar pour $200 a la dealership.

Meh, I drove today with no tunes, adjusted the side mirrors a bit and was around 6-8 inches from bumping so shouldn't be an issue now. Also this car has depreciated at least 10g's now in the last couple years so any imperfections not so worrisome anymore.
