I have the same camera that I got off Amazon for 12 bucks. I hooked it up to my monitor (not the headunit) and the quality looks good. Only problem is it has distance guide lines, so it's gonna overlap with the headunit since that apparently has them too.

Still waiting on it to arrive. I'll post after the install.

This will be one of the easiest DIY's I've done in years. Add 2 pins, run a video cable, power the camera, mount the camera.
I'll try to remember to "keep is simple stupid" when the write up comes

Quick question for you guys that already messed with the wiring - what kind of terminals did Subaru use on the 16 pin harness? Are they Molex Mini50's?

I think that would be a question best directed towards SVXdc... The pins I used were not a perfect match for the radio but were close enough that I could make them work.

By the way, by not a perfect match, do you mean they were too big, too small, did you have to hack it or the harness to make it fit? |

they were the right size just a little bit different shape then they should have been. I basically just had to push harder than I should have needed to to get them in.

That tell you enough foobar? Sounds like if you can identify the pin type we should be able to find a source pretty easily, no?

One of these I assume: http://www.mouser.com/pdfdocs/Molex_...SDatasheet.pdf I'll have to pull the harness out to get a better look I guess. Something for the weekend unless svxdc gets back to me. |
