I haven't heard a single cricket since I went FI, but I've been at lights with 80k Audis and BMWs that are ticking like a time bomb.

Never been one failure because of crickets that I know of.

I'm out.

Name one car that is 100% perfect. Not a single japanese, German or American car ever built has no issues at all.

Its part of a process owning a sport car, something broken, you fix, and you drive it again.
It is creating a bonding with your car.

I never heard of failure because of crickets either. I don't think anyone has reported a fuel pump failure because of crickets. Not on here at least.

This,

even though crickets maybe can be annoying when idle

Which honestly at least in my car, I never notice them unless im actually standing outside of the car. Just isn't something that even phases me. after installing my aftermarket muffler i literally dont notice them anymore

I'm under the impression that if you replace your fuel pump it also fixes this issue.

Don't buy it. Really depends on the rev difference. 2nd to 6th from 7.5k without waiting WILL mangle the syncros, but 3rd-5th at low rpm and being patient, not so much.

Where do you draw the line? How do you know how long is long enough?

It's impossible to use words to help a young, inexperienced person develop a decent feel for it. I know I have some posts during my first few months here advocating exactly the same thing. I've since changed my tune.

Would you skip gears on a driving test in the UK?
