Because there's such a huge difference between cheap taiwan headers and cheap taiwan headers with 2 different bends that are then shipped from the exact same factory to Japan to have tomei engraved on them and price increased by $200. The PSR ones are good value, but like all headers, aren't perfect.

I looked into the SSI header at one point (after the Tomei was announced but before it was retailed) and was quoted US$499 delivered via EMS for 1, but was turned off by the fact they wanted bank transfer. Fast forward a month or so after that and Pro speed racing announced that they were going to retail it, but I was offered the Tomei by a supplier for a good price and figured that I'd rather go for a product that has the actual R&D behind it than a product that has been slightly altered so that it isn't a copy (well this is my understanding of SSI's header anyway).

Did consider it at one point after this when the Tomei was pushed back by my supplier but didn't go for it because of the clearance issue with the bash plate (something that requires the modification of stock parts to fit is not worth it IMO).

Anyway, I had my Tomei UEL fitted today and the Tomei UEL, KLS (think the US equivalent is Top Speed) over pipe, stock front pipe and GReddy Evo 3 is QUIETER than what I was running before this point - KLS header, over pipe, catless front pipe and GReddy Evo 3.

Just realised I never posted this here. This is Tomei UEL, KLS Over Pipe, stock front pipe and GReddy Evo 3 Catback.

[ame]http://youtu.be/S-TR4EpUSF0[/ame]

The stock catback is back on now, because I went and got a custom made catted front pipe (the Magnaflow 200cel does fuckall for noise) and it was raspy and droney as. Looking at a new catback now…

Does anyone have a Tomei UEL and Invidia Q300 that they wouldn't mind posting a sound clip? I have a cat-less front pipe and Q300.

Thanks

I'm debating between this Tomei Expreme EL and the BuddyClub EL headers. Does anyone have any helpful input? Will one be more quiet than the other? :p

Tomei UEL headers with Ultrex overpipe, stock front pipe and Ultrex cat back. Similar to a Q300 just a bit louder.

I have this exact setup.

Tomei UEL with stock mid and overpipe and Invidia Q300 catback. I'll try to make a recording tonight.

My 2 cents. It sounds great. Not too loud or obnoxious, but definitely mean sounding.

Zero rasp, but on cold start it is pretty loud for that 30 or so seconds. After that it quietens down and sounds great.

Yeah if you wouldn't mind, that would be awesome!
