It's a California thing. Can't ship anything without that warning on it.

Mules are great. Better than a station wagon.

Any of you folks have any experience with "Sleep Number" beds?

mrs humfrz has been having some trouble getting comfortable in our bed and wakes up sore.

So, Sunday she got me into a sleep number bed store.

Now, I just HATE to buy a new bed - I hate to part with the old one, sort of like an old pair of shoes.

However, with a 25 year warranty, this will most likely be my last bed purchase (which is sort of depressing).

The pretty little sales girl put us through the whole sales pitch with several models. All with big screen TV on the ceiling showing which looked to be some sort of pressure sensitive X-ray real time movie picture.

I thought that what this "sleep number" technology was all about - was one bed fits all, just change the number to suit individual preferences.

Nooooo - there are several different models with several different bases and several different types of mattress tops and thicknesses.

Of course mrs humfrz could tell the difference between the economy model (that I had scoped out on line) and the, shall we say, more expensive models.

I knew I was trapped. 50% off a "de-lux" model, which made the price point not much more than the medium priced model. mrs humfrz already threw out the economy model. So, why buy a new bed if the mrs is not going to be happy with it - for the next 25 years!

So, we ordered the de-lux model.

So, what has been your experiences or impressions of this kind of bed??

(I guess I'm just having a hard time getting past the fact that this bed costs more than three times what I paid for my first brand new car - )
