How much longer until anyone can get this done easily for performance upgrade?

The tactrix adapter is an interface between the car obd-2 port and your computers usb port.

The Ecuflash software allows you to read your car ECU ROM via the tactrix adapter and save it, edit it then reflash it to the car

If you have the definition files for the ROM (table structure) then you can use ECUflash software to modify fueling ignition timing and many other tables to increase the performance and drivability of your stock car.

Do not expect huge gains on a stock N/A car maybe 10hp

If you have other mods headers intakes ect you can change tables/parameters to suit these mods and possibly pick up maybe 20hp over an untuned car

retune for e85 maybe 30hp

Any re-tuning even on a non turbo/supercharged car (ie N/A) requires much knowledge and skill , time and patience and the ability to interpret engine parameter logs.

The ecuflash software will not "tune" your car for you.

99% of people will require a source of pre tuned ROM's, and at best may be able to fiddle with the odd table to tidy something up.

note I am in the 99%

I have a tactrix as a backup to my Open flash tablet

Tectrix/openflash is working at present for read/write/edit but logging still a work in progress as I understand it. It works but limited access to rAM addresses for parameter logging, depending on your rom type.

What is left as far as logging goes? Specifically a and b series usdm mt roms....

Hoping for a rough estimate for when I can get my car tuned.

The logging works fine, been using it for a while.

Just install a SD mini card in tactrix adapter and have a suitable logcfg file in the root directory and your good to go.

If your on C or G series rom their are a couple of logcfg files posted a couple of pages back.

You only need to have the same ROM series ie C or G , revisions loke A01 BO1 700 are compatable just the last letter is significant.

Unfortunatly for other ROM types i dont have memory addresses. The logcfg file is just text.

Meaning flkc, iam, afr targets, Load, fueling, pulse widths ect????

Are they still in beta or alpha stage?

If you make a text file containing the text below the ******* and call it "logcfg.txt" and have it in root directory of SD card in tactrix it will log the parameters this is for C series USA ROM

anything with a ; at start of line is comment or commented out

It will create a csv file on the sd card , new one each time logging starts

Starts when rpm not 0 and stops when rpm goes to 0.

Mate don't know about alpha beta, its open source. no guarantees its use at your own risk stuff.

If you want something more user friendly with safeguards to stop writing wrong ROM,s and with support and backup I would suggest you look at OFT, Ecutek or a tuner. not being nasty it just the way it is.

If you want more parameters you will have to beg/borrow/ask on here and or Romraider/ecuflash forums. only the guru's dissassembling code can dig these out.

I personally have OFT and use tactrix as a backup device and for faster logging/flashing but if it all goes pear shaped I have the oft as a fallback or comparision device.

I have the OFT, the reason why I am asking is because I want to use a tuner and not pay for another solution like EcuTek.

I've used RR and ecuflash with my wrx and while it wasn't too difficult I am still not comfortable self tuning nor disassembling code.

I want to go to my tuner and say, yes ecuflash /RR is ready to use to tune my car. Not, well half the parameters are missing and there is only 3-4 errors each time we flash.

Why won't tuner use OFT ?? with the enhanced logging now available It seems a bit confusing. Using OFT or Tacrix will still be editing with Romraider. Both flash same ROM.

I don't thing you ever going to get a guarantee from anyone on parameters unfortunately, although you could use oft to check them.

I haven't played with the advanced logging on the OFT yet.

Can you get a wideband o2 output on the OFT?

Honestly I don't think he's used oft before, most tuners outside of this and BMW don't know what it is. I went looking for someone experienced with ecuflash and RR because they worked with what I have already.

I have two options within driving distance and neither have tuned an 86 yet, one tunes almost daily the other less often but has a BRZ so should be comfortable with it soon.

No I just want to verify the stock sensor..... Keep hearing things about it being up to a full point off.

Nameless headers and downpipe (op/fp)
And probably GS intake.

I live at 4500ft so canned tunes don't work well

Shiv said he was getting a wideband sensor so he could make a kit, much cheaper as all it needs is a sensor and the OFT takes care of turning raw values into equivalent AFR values.
