all this video did was show the absolutely disgusting amount of grip the car had based on skid pad, stopping distance and more importantly figure 8 number and then describe how the car felt so much better than the previous generations but it gained 100 lbs so its disappointing. this forum has a horrible habit of judging means and not the end. that being said, i will probably never own a vette because each iteration makes the preious look like a joke.

A lot of manufacturers have promised that the next generation of cars will be lighter (Mazda with the Miata and next-gen RX-7, VW with the GTI, Chevy with the Vette, Ford with the Mustang, etc.) and that got a lot of enthusiasts excited, so it's always disappointing when they don't deliver on their claims. As a whole, weight affects more than outright performance (although it matters there too, imagine the performance a C7 would offer 200 lbs lighter), it also affects the rate at which consumables are used, as well as fuel economy. Not to mention the way the car feels to drive. That said, apart from the disappointing weight gain, the C7 Vette does look impressive from the reviews.

Z51 package with bigger wheels/tires. Still only pulls 1.11 G...
It makes sense that it's overweight... It's American. 3400lbs is pretty much average nowadays amirite?! ![]() wait, are we still talking about cars?

Want. I don't care if they gained some weight, it's all about the end result for me. 100% of the performance for 60% of the cost of its rivals? Sold.

I love how the have a more serious focus but the look I'm not too sure about yet. Need to see one in person. I'm sure its a great car.

I've never really cared about the base model vettes, the z06's, zr1's, Lingenfelter's, and hennessey's are what make me go ooohh and aahhh. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the new z06, if thats what its call, the LS7 is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Very nice car. But I would still get the GT-R even if doesn't drive like a proper sport car, mostly because it is a track car.

Leave it to these forums to worry about 100lbs on a sports car that has over 450/450.

I am aware that and the fact that the GT-R is worth the price. Capable of beating a bunch of supercars and definitely the vette.... I only mentioned the GT-R in my post because the OP brought it up....
