Not a fan of "Celica" because this car is supposed to be the successor to the AE86, not the Celica line. So I'll go with "Levinson"

If its a Scion, I'd like just "86". After all, Scion has weird names anyways.

Just call it a Scion Corolla GTS; and confuse everyone.

But seriously, they should go old school. Call it a Celica. If they release a high-output version: Celica Supra. And heck, eventually let's have a 4 door: Celica Camry.

I'd like it to have a nice ring to it, make it sound as cool as it will hopefully be

Thinking about it, I don't think any name should be revived. Also, as SteelReign stated above, this car is inspired by the AE86 so Celica doesn't really float my boat.

All I really want is a non-numerical name. I want a NAME. All the coolest cars usually have real names: Vanquish, Viper, Skyline, Supra, Mustang, Modena, Italia, etc. etc.

The new McLaren could have been so much cooler if it wasn't called the MP4-12c. Really now? That all you got?

I'd like a name too, just because the original AE86 had a name too. Although I'd like to point out cool cars can still have alphanumerical names: RX-7, GT-R, SLR, 3000GT/GTO, 5000SUX, etc

+1
It's cooler to have a name ( may be Supra or Raiden雷電 ). Even if Celica fit with the car but I don't think it's cool ( may be just me ).
Hachiroku's too long.

My vote goes to not being called 'Corolla, Celica, or Sprinter.'

I vote we start a new poll with Celica, Corolla(Trueno, Levin, or even Sprinter), Supra, and Other.

Just to gauge the difference over time.

Please no Celica, Corolla or Supra. The car should be given a new name.

Corolla= cheap ecobox, this is to be a FR sports car
Supra= Supra (and this car is no replacement for the Supra)
Celica= basically flamed out and not sure why you would resurrect an old name that did very poorly at the end

Toyota, just come up with an new name that hasn't been used in the past 10-15 years. Thanks.

I know the FT-86 is being touted by Toyota as the spiritual successor to the AE-86 Corolla, but to me the Corolla name has been so ruined by what it has become [a crappy econobox] that any resemblance to a sports car has been long lost. I suppose among the currently dead names Toyota has used in the past, the Celica seems the most fitting.

It seems that in the USA the car will most likely be branded the Scion FT-S, which is a clinical name but at least it's "new" to allow everyone to see the car for what it is and not what past cars were.
