Very cool project and props on getting some very solid numbers. I'm surprised how well this works. No wonder why OEMs are experimenting with the electric charger.

ok ok, this might be a little off topic but I'm getting my creative juices flowing here! wouldn't it be great to have a turbo driven by one of those RC gas motors that could be fed by the gas already in your engine. then you would have a dedicated motor to the turbo only kind of like this electric system but ran by gas.
Just saying! now someone gimme royalties for this! |

What I am trying to get for everyone is a apples to apples comparison. With our altitude and recent weather we at 83 percent density.

out of quick observation...you car still went thru 2nd gear faster and your at a way higher alt than i am.

I'm still intrigued to see what the IAT's are entering the engine. You may need to pick up a thermocouple to do some testing. Surely someone will lend you one for testing?
I appreciate that a few pounds of boost in itself shouldn't create more than ambient+10C, but running the compressor at these very low pressure ratios and flow rates is below the bottom efficiency island on the compressor chart. |
