Very cool project and props on getting some very solid numbers. I'm surprised how well this works. No wonder why OEMs are experimenting with the electric charger.

ok ok, this might be a little off topic but I'm getting my creative juices flowing here! wouldn't it be great to have a turbo driven by one of those RC gas motors that could be fed by the gas already in your engine. then you would have a dedicated motor to the turbo only kind of like this electric system but ran by gas.
Just saying!
now someone gimme royalties for this!

If you're thinking about a nitro engine from an rc car then no, because they run on nitro, not gas, and don't produce nearly enough power. 23-30cc 2-stroke gas engines from 1/5 scales are 2-strokes, and also do not make enough power. Electric motors are far more powerful for a given size. This is why all of the super fast rc cars today are electric, brushless motors and lipos.

Why not just ignite fuel in the turbine side of a turbocharger, basically turning it into a gas turbine engine with a piston engine acting as a preheater.

What I am trying to get for everyone is a apples to apples comparison. With our altitude and recent weather we at 83 percent density.

Tomorrow I'm trying to meet up with a local member to do some second gear rolls.

I'm still intrigued to see what the IAT's are entering the engine. You may need to pick up a thermocouple to do some testing. Surely someone will lend you one for testing?

I appreciate that a few pounds of boost in itself shouldn't create more than ambient+10C, but running the compressor at these very low pressure ratios and flow rates is below the bottom efficiency island on the compressor chart.

They did this 50 years ago:

Unlike conventional superchargers (which are driven by a belt from the crankshaft and take some crank horsepower to run), and unlike conventional turbo chargers (which use the exhaust energy to spin up the turbo), the Turbonique Auxiliary Power Supercharger had it's own fuel source to power itself ...
When the switch was flipped, liquid oxygen and a rocket fuel named Thermolene were fed to the supercharger.
Reported testing in 1963 on a Chevy 409 showed a horsepower gain from 405 horsepower stock, to a mammoth 835 hp with the supercharger engaged.
