Yup. My wife wanted to get out and do some hiking yesterday and somehow we ended up going somewhere that involved Redwood to Pinehurst to Canyon in order to get there. I'm not sure how that happened

I did get behind the one motorcyclist that wanted to go slow on Redwood when heading north and then a slow bicyclist for the whole tight downhill section of Pinehurst heading towards Canyon.

Weekly meet for the East Bay is tomorrow night in Hayward:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...postcount=2494

No cruises/drives planned yet for this weekend, although if the weather continues to look good I'll be tempted to do one. Who else would be up for one early Sat or Sun morning?

Usually local meets and drives will be tracked on the events page at 86drive.com

I had a great drive last Tuesday. I had to go from Sonoma out to Sea Ranch to look at a property in for a client. I went North up 101 to Dry Creek Rd and took that around the South side of Lake Sonoma where it becomes Skaggs Springs Rd all the way to Annapolis Rd. I had never been on this road before, it is broken into three distinct sections. The first section goes from Lake Sonoma to a bridge. It's beautiful and consists of smooth sweeping turns along a ridge line in good condition. Once you get the bridge the road changes and becomes more of a county road. The second section is narrow, winding, in poorer condition and even 1 lane in many sections. The last third is more similar to the first but not as nice. All together this gave me about 35 miles of twisty mountain roads.

Coming back I took HWY 1 south from Sea Ranch to Jenner and then 116/River Rd back to 101. HWY 1 is, for the most part in good condition. I did hit a couple wash outs going both ways that were down to 1 lane but they were all clearly marked.

It was a beautiful day and great drive.

I'd love to drive up the coast, stop at that corner store, and leisurely take Skaggs all the way back to 101. That's a day's worth of driving right there.

Sadly, I'm concerned about fuel consumption unless they have a gas station somewhere along that route (memory is failing me).

I did deliveries out there and have been on many of those back roads. Would usually end the route on the coast deliveries so it would be from Sea Ranch all the way to Bodega Bay.

That Skaggs road can be kinda dangerous when you take it back all the way to highway 1 because parts of it will switch to a single lane.

You can't get one until you go on at least one early morning drive with us.

Also until you master throttle blip rev matched downshifts.

Haha sounds good to me.

I think I've got the hang of downshifting now so I'll be able to start practicing rev matching.

Gotta be able to left-foot brake too. Sorry, we just raised the standards.
